My family and I stayed here for vacation and had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful resort and kid friendly. The kids had a blast on the water slide and at Top golf. I am looking forward to going back soon.
Very impressed! By far has been one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond for our comfort. The pool and movie night was a nice touch. The food and room service was excellent!
We last stayed here a few years ago (previously wrote a review that said I would never return). After reading about it's $50M update during COVID, we decided to try it again and we were not disappointed. This property has undergone an intense overhaul and the result is overwhelmingly gorgeous and incredibly spectacular. The rooms are completely redesigned, updated and beautiful. We stayed here for five nights last weekend - everything was perfect. Breakfast at the restaurant, pool side service, illy coffee service in the rooms and hot water/tea, lovely furnishings, water slide, free provision of plentiful drinking water and refillable water stations, lounge food, all day market, housekeeping, valets (100% amazing). We stayed in a pool suite with 1.5 baths and 2 lanais -- it was perfect for our family of five. My only two minor asks --- could you please get better sofa beds and/or include some rollaway beds? That would be the cherry on top. The remedy was a $30 inflatable mattress from target -- not bad all things considered. This property absolutely deserves its five star status. The staff here are top notch and so attentive without being condescending. LOVED this property and can't wait to return. Many thanks!
Minutes away from the coast the Park Hyatt Aviara is truly a breathtaking getaway. Luxury property with spa like amenities. Fantastic service and remarkable cuisine. We had a great little staycation. There was something for everyone! Can’t wait to return.
We have stayed at this hotel for over a week for two years running. It’s a lovely property that consistently delivers good service. It’s a bit inland but has nice views far off of the ocean and closer of an artificial lake. The weather in San Diego is a big appeal and this property makes the most of it. Rooms have balconies. We recommend those not overlooking the pool for greater tranquility. There are two pools—one adult and one for everyone separated by a bar and restaurant area. You can also order food and drink at your lounge chair. Food is expensive but quality is high at the restaurants and by the pool. The breakfast buffet beats its competitors. Pastries are delicious as are other buffet or a la carts options. Ate at both Ponto Lago and Ember & Rye last year and we very much enjoyed both. Valet parking required (and has a hefty daily fee). Service is very friendly and we rarely had to wait much at all for our car. Waters offered if you want them. Nice gym facility off the spa. Excellent golf course. Rooms are very nice. Flatscreen TVs on which you can cast from Netflix and other services. Very comfy beds. Nice little lights come on in the bathroom and side of the bed to help navigate in the dark. Fridge to store drinks along with an Illy coffee machine and water heater. In short, a luxury property that really delivers with consistently welcoming service and quality. We’re happy we came back and hope we can do so again. Thanks to everyone here who has made our stays so great.
We came here for my husbands birthday. He never celebrates his birthday that much due to being in the military for a long time. This is the first time ever. I must say we had such an amazing time. The property was breathtaking. The staff were so nice and accommodating it seemed like we were in a perfect world. The check in was so smooth, the rooms were easy to find and the view was fantastic. We also loved the top golf which our server did an amazing job. She even stayed a little later than her because we wanted to play 30 more minutes. That meant a lot to us! My husband and his friend also played golf where we met Caesar. He was so nice and friendly he made us feel like family. We went to the pool and our server Daniela was so awesome and very helpful. The manager was also the one that worked it out for us to get a reservation at top golf. I think his name was Steven. What stood out to us was front desk staff ALYSON!! She made the birthday celebration perfect. She was so friendly and made us feel like family. and because of that, My husband really felt like it was his special Birthday Weekend! Although the property was so perfect, what we will never forget was how we were treated like family by all of the Staff. This made our stay EXCEPTIONAL.
This provides everything you expect from a high end resort. Loved that there were separate adult and family pools. Our pool cabana service was excellent. The only oddity was the location. When I think Southern California resort, I think of the beach. This is not by a beach but rather by a... Swamp? Wetland if you want a euphemism? Would have preferred to get some sand between my toes.
Just a few comments for improvement… at 12:40am in the middle of night prior to our departure, we woke up to knocking on the door by a person wearing staff uniform holding up pillows and saying he was responding to our request for extra pillows. We did not appreciate this nor did anyone address this upon checkout. The only hot tub at one of two pools had so much sand in it and there seemed to be too much of a chlorine smell. Not pleasant. Overall, gorgeous property, attentive staff with some exceptions, lots of options for daily activities including hiking, fitness programs, tennis and golf, etc. Ponto Lago dinner experience is exceptional. Ember dinner we would not recommend. We hope to be back though may hesitate since the price is high—and especially considering the mishaps with a middle of the night wakeup/scare, oversight on cleanliness of hot tub, and maybe an off night at the Ember restaurant. Lastly, our pricier ocean view did not exactly have an ocean view (318).
Valet in the early morning is a mess. If you have an early flight it can be quite a surprise. The food is really lacking. After a subpar couple of meals, asked the concierge where to go and they said San Diego. Kinda felt like a hostage at the property with nothing around.
Beautiful property and the staff was amazing. The rooms were a perfect 10. The automatic illumination under the beds and in the bathrooms was wonderful. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. The restaurants were great. Loved everything about this property.
