The food was 2.5-3 star at best and seemingly prepared by cooks, and not chefs. We got the carrots which looked boiled with goat cheese on top and pistachios - which we cringed at when we saw it. My wife got the salmon, which was basic baked with a couple sides of veggies, and I got the meat plate which was pretty good. Also not that our server completely abandoned us after we ordered and we did not see him again - not even to bring us the bill.

excellent service, food was fantastic, tequila was .....Tequila!! music was most excellent. would recommend it to anyone!!

Great music! Loved Shawn!

Good good, great cocktails!

I liked my a whiskey sour, and the artichoke crostini was good. The chicken liver crostinis were tasty but the pate was a bit hard for some reason. Peach Burrata salad and Short Rib were great. Raviolis were so so though.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday there tonight! Amazing food and incredible and attentive service from Kate — who had her hands full with out large party! The live music from the Shawn Jones Trio was also an unexpected treat! We will definitely be back!

It is a cool place but I would give it a 3.5 rating. The baked brie was underwhelming and the cocktails were okay. Good for a date.

We were invited to a rehearsal dinner at the Oak & Elixir…..the food was delicious! The hospitality …spot on. A very warm and friendly environment…loved the experience. Don’t hesitate to use the Oak & Elixir for your dinner or gathering.

I have not written many reviews, but I felt I needed to. This place is an absolute gem! Everything from their cocktail menu to dining is very well thought out. You can order ANYTHING and you will not be let down. I can't recommend this place enough! If you haven't been, it's a must not only for Carlsbad, but for San Diego. The staff and owner are all sweet and will make you feel welcome/at home. It's a great atmosphere. Trust me, you don't want to miss it! My personal favorites are the jalapeño and Hobbs bacon Flatbread, the ravioli sampler (the sage cream sauce is to die for!)

The spot is a posh wine bar with mediocre service and high prices. The ingredients in the good is quality, and the wine selection is great, but our food just wasn't cooked well and was rather disappointing. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, spinach and goat cheese salad (highlight of the meal) and 2 different flat breads. The chicken and pesto, and the flank steak gorgonzola.I called ahead and was told it'd be about 30 minutes for the order to be ready.Showed up at about minute 20 and there was no hostess at the time. Overall they looked pretty slow so I walked in and sat at the stone bar. To my left when I walked in was a live band on break, and they were a bit out of place in such a posh bar. Pretty sure the band name was next of kin, they honestly looked like a typical casino tour cover band. It was a but off putting for the location. I did enjoy the vibe once they started playing. Good song choice and the guitarist had skill. I just don't think it fit at a wine bar. Just my opinion. I sat for 3 songs which ended up being about 20 minutes totalling 40 minutes waiting for the food (glad I called ahead). When the food came out it was in small takeout boxes and the server struggled to squeeze it into some generic thank you bags. You can tell the takeout was a recent afterthought and not well planned. Understood considering the times.I took about 6 minutes to get back to the hotel room and unbox the food with my wife and we immediately found that the flat breads were cold and seemed undercooked. I would say the food sat in the kitchen at least 10 minutes before being brought out, maybe they forgot the salad or something, not sure, but based on timing and levidity
