They have great coffee and decent food, the employees are nice, but they are so slow. I mean painfully slow. It doesn't help that the barista is the one running drinks out to tables. It totally messed up the flow behind the counter. I waited 15 min, with no one in front of me in line, for an cold brew ice coffee. I know they had other orders ahead of me, but man it painful to watch. There were 3+ people working at the bar. You could do better with your time and flow.
Great location. A little tricky to find. Very close to the train station by the theater on the theater side of the street. A one minute walk from station. Nice covered patio. Very open setting. Nice ocean breeze.
Lofty is quickly becoming one of my favorite coffeehouses in CA. Their beverages and food items are delicious, consistent, and unique. The people they hire are friendly and knowledgeable - quick to make great recommendations. This specific location is outdoor-seating-only so come prepared based on the temp and weather.
Whit a contemporary ambiance, and their aromatic and tasty latte, topped off with latte art, you wouldn't be disappointed. On the other hand, be aware of their tip options that start from $1 while a cup of latte was $5ish.
Sophisticated coffee offerings. Great brunch-y items and pastries. Large open-air space with industrial-chic vibe. Busy, esp on weekends.
Lofty is absolutely amazing. I love checking out local coffee shops, so I’ve been to a lot and Lofty is hands down my fave. Homemade almond milk, FRESH pastries every morning, great atmosphere and every single person that works there is so kind and friendly, which makes a huge difference. Can’t recommend enough.
I never really post reviews but I just made my first trip ever to a Lofty for a latte with breakfast and am sadly disappointed. I approached the counter to order right behind what appeared to be a regular of theirs… the two baristas and the regular turned and looked right at me, and then continued on with some conversation about the regulars hair… no greeting or acknowledgement, I felt insignificant and belittled. I just stood there behind her for about five minutes listening to the two girls praise this woman in yoga pants about her hair rather without ever taking her order. I walked away and I doubt they even noticed or cared. Sadly won’t be coming back.
I come here EVERYDAY! The reason is the community and especially the amazing people behind the counter including but not limited to the manager, kitchen etc. Here you get acknowledged , loved and supported. Customized coffee is a bonus. This is NOT a ROBOT operated shop!!! Baristas will acknowledged your presence and make a small talk with everyone EQUALLY, not just the regulars. If you do not have time and in a rush i suggest you got elsewhere. Here we take our time , we are patient and we love the long lines , we practice COMPASSION . Trust me i almost walk out the first time, i'm glad I DIDN"T! I was so accustomed to the quantity vs quality. I look forward to my community and how to practice patience every day. Great staff, great coffee, great location
I highly recommend Loftys for their excellent Lattes. This was my first time at the Carlsbad location, and I really enjoyed the egg & sausage croissant. It was a very brisk morning, but thankfully they have overhead heaters that keeps you warm. No indoor seating available. Overall a great experience! I would have added another star, if the croissant hadn't been so long in the making.
