This review is strictly about Hotel Caste, right upon arrival started badly. We arrived 3:50 PM tried to check in room was not ready, finally Front Desk agent approached us and told us room will be ready at 4pm. so we left our bags with bell hoop personnel. Around 4:30pm, we never received text or email that room might be ready. I went to FD and asked the status, agent told me let me look up, and by surprise she told me one room just opened up. So we took the room, went to our room. Now we are skipping 2 days for check out, i saw my bill have parking charges i never had car, i arrived with taxi from SD Airport, they still charged me i tried to ask FD Agents to remove it , they took my name on sticky note and room number they told me they will remove it and email me receipt. NEVER HAPPENED. why is HOTEL CHARGING for something you didn't use or have? I would like manager to call me or email me. So we can discuss this, i think FD staff needs more training.
We loved our vacation to Legoland. The hotel was super fun for our 6-year/old son as well. Everything was very child friendly and there was so much attention to detail! The staff and customer service was amazing too. We had a great bell person name Jimmy who provided awesome customer service. From evening entertainment to the pool to the playground to the free breakfast, we couldn’t be happier. Definitely recommend this hotel for a family oriented, fun and unique experience.
Stayed for 3 nights at the Castle and was very disappointed upon arrival. Now, I am no "Karen" by any means but for the price I paid I expect things to at least work in my room and feel overall comfortable in the room I paid for. First, realized upon walking in the room that some other family's name was on the TV screens. Which made me think we had the wrong room. Which made sense given that I had apparently booked the last room on their website (last minute booking) and the only room available was an ADA compliant room.. I called the service desk and was told that no, I do have the right room (although a standard room, not the room I actually booked). Had I been a disabled person specifically booking this room I would be furious. They explained there is a "glitch" in their system and it will be corrected soon. There for 3 nights and it was never corrected... this caused issues trying to use one of their "easy" ways to checkout... I couldn't check out of my room via the tv because my account wasn't attached to the room and the other family was! The only outlet on the left side of bed did not work therefore had to charge my phone across the room. The vanity mirror light did not work and with the bathroom already poorly lit it was difficult. Fine... You cannot control the ac lower than 70 degrees... and btw you cannot open the windows.. they only open literally 2 inches due to safety.. so if you want any type of ventilation bring a Phillips screw driver! Otherwise your room will feel like a dank, sweaty locker room. On top of that the kids room is in the front of the room where there is no ventilation at all. People complain about the noise in the play area outside but it's a kids hotel so what do you expect? I didn't really mind that at all. And lastly, our room was serviced half way on our last night...while the master bed was made and towels stocked, the kids room still was not serviced. At all....I complained about all of the above again at checkout and I received an empty apology.... To make matters even more annoying, the sticker shock of the resort fee and parking daily! Oye! We are paid guests at a hotel and charging for parking is just silly. Entertainment was nice for the kids, pool was good, food was decent. But definitely won't be returning and will be telling friends and family it's not the place to spend your money.
Online check-in was very convenient and fast. Room availability was too late thou. We came at 2pm and received a text about our room available by 520pm.. and checking out at 11am the next day.. i feel like its too short for you to pay a good price, at least make it worth staying.. AC can’t be adjusted. It gets so hot in the middle of the night. Tv was not working at the kids loft and even the hair blower.. ??♀️
My crew of 3 little ones (8, 6, 4) all had a blast. Hotel room 188 was surprisingly clean and fun --I searched it with a blacklight too. Our kids figured out a code on the wall and opened the treasure chest to find some goodies. My 8 yo found only two rides interesting ( the two big rollercoasters). So beware older kids doo tend to get bored. The staff at the Cafe and everyone we encountered were absolutely friendly. Besides stepping on a few legos in the room from our kid's new toys, the experience was truly great. The park is small so we were able to experience almost everything in two days --can't say that about Disney Land, much less Disney World. As we departed, my little one lost his bag of Legos..we were able to secure them with the lost and found crew. I really enjoyed it and given the right incentive, I would drive 1.5 hours again to experience it again. A word or advise, is to make use of the brands of Batman, Avengers and Star Wars. We would love to have seen some of these characters around the park. Otherwise, happy family here, and BIG Thank you to everyone!
Kids enjoyed the hotel, but why so over priced and kinda dingy and poorly appointed. Also, impossible to get a hold of anyone by phone to ask a question regarding our trip. Resulted in unnecessary loss of time and expense for us due to inability to adequately plan our trip in advance. Very frustrating. Legoland is fun, but somehow also not very well kept. Kind of run down looking. Wouldn’t have been so disappointed if the cost weren’t so ridiculously high. Pretty much any amusement park I’ve been too is better and cheaper.
Agree with other reviewers that this is child-centred vacation. Online check-in was convenient as the lobbies of both hotels can be very busy at certain times of day. Pros: - themed rooms that kids absolutely loved - easy to use tv for kids and bunk beds in kids area of the room - nightly activities including dance party, meet and greets with lego characters, outdoor movies, play areas. The staff are all very friendly and really get into the activities, with a smile! - great activity and front desk staff - lego building areas in each lobby - room cleaning almost daily while other hotels weee by request at this time - juice and water in hotel rooms - treasure in the safe each night - google on iPad in rooms - close drive to restaurants and outlet mall - located right beside the legoland park - early access to legoland park, other reviewers mentioned they do not differentiate hotel guests and non-hotel guests for early access but this was in fact enforced during our stay Cons: - public areas are loud, more so in the legoland California hotel and this can be overwhelming and I can see why some reviewers felt a need for a vacation after legoland however my children (and mostly like everyone else’s) had a great time in the lobbies - bed was made but toiletries were not replenished Note: - the treasure hunt questions are the same each night and the code is the same. We had no problem with this but I witnessed another guest very upset that they were paying for an “experience”. We didn’t mind not having to run through crowds of people each night to get the treasure. - we returned early to our room one day and caught the cleaning lady by surprise. We just asked for supplies / treasure, and she was very kind but mentioned she thought it had been clean, then later mentioned her key was not working. It was not her fault we returned early, however I do think it would be helpful to train staff on how to respond to these situations. - lastly, thank you to CFN. KJ (?) at the front desk who really made my son feel special with his lego creation. I am sure each employee deals with many guests each day but this was really appreciated!
The hotel service and cleanliness was great!! Karinw Rangel did a fabulous job with our room!! The full resort experience was by far fun for whole family! The legoland theme park, the water park and the sealife aquarium will hold fun family memories!!
Staying at the hotel was such a great way to experience LEGO Land. The staff at the hotel were all super helpful and they really did think of everything to make staying there easy for families. Valet vehicle parking, they held all of our bags until the room was ready, a fun courtyard for the kids to play and watch LEGO movies, and the themed rooms added extra fun for the kiddos. We had a two day pass to the park so we were able to arrive early in the day, leave our luggage with the hotel staff, and then visit the park until our room was ready. Our only complaint was that the LEGO toy set provided with the room, where the kids have to complete a scavenger hunt to unlock, were a little lackluster. For the price of the hotel and the additional price of the LEGO set prize, we were expecting a little more than a tiny figurine. A little bigger of a LEGO set would have been a more satisfying prize for the kiddos.
My child had a blast. They need to figure out how to clean the community legos better!! They are in pretty rough shape. Most staff were kind and helpful. It was expensive, but fun for the kids. It is a great location. Love the area for kids in our room. Cleaning could use work as carpets are stained and our comforter had several unknown stains on it.
