This restaurant was difficult to rate. The food was delicious although they have a very very small menu. The portion sizes were small for the price you paid. The service was good and we were able to sit outside which was really nice. If you want a nice meal, money is not an issue, and you have a wide variety of eating preferences then I recommend.

The two of us shared 5 small plates, and each was excellent (Little Gem Crab Salad, Ahi Tuna Carpaccio, Crispy Pork Belly, Shrimp & Grits, Roasted Trumpet Mushrooms). All were well thought out and executed, with wonderfully balanced flavors, and beautifully presented. Service was also great. The wine margarita was a little on the sour/bitter side, but the happily replaced it with a glass of wine. We were very glad we tried out this place, will no doubt be back.

Amazing food. Hidden gem. Great date night dinner. We visit Monterey Bay Area annually for decades and try new restaurants each year. Trestles is phenomenal and we were so pleasantly surprised how good the food was — it’s a small enough place that can keep tight control over their food quality and staff. Amazing tastes, variety, attentive and friendly employees. Loved the limited menu = delicious food that is thoughtfully made. Everything is cooked in open kitchen. Great wine selections as well and the wine “cocktails” were also fun — loved the Wine take on a Moscow Mule. Will be coming back for sure.

A hidden gem in the area. Upscale with a chill atmosphere. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to interact with. We sat outside which was just perfect. The food was amazing. Started with pork belly app, had the scallops and New York strip entrees and finished with the Chilean brownie and cheesecake. Can't wait to come back.

Fine dining and intimate atmosphere. Fascinating view of small kitchen and prep area where everything is freshly cooked and small plates are assembled by wait staff. A bit pricey, but high quality food and great service.

So good that we ate here back to back nights! Aside from the friendly staff, the food is delicious, high quality, and full of creative flavors. I've been told the menu rotates with the seasons and look forward to dining again next time we're in town. For the beer buffs they have Pliny on tap!

Everything met my expectations. Food was wonderful, pricey, but you get what you pay for. Service was friendly and accommodating. It's a small restaurant and it definitely is rather loud at times but other than that it was a memorable experience!

Good wine country food for the most part. Gourmet apps. Entrees somewhat limited…brick chicken good, Our big issue was the noise. Super loud atmosphere. Impossible for an intimate dinner. Wines by the glass a bit limited

Cool and happening place. Hostess super nice, servers on top of their game. Food excellent, good wines on menu. Could have a few more cocktails, but it's more of a wine place. Nice outdoor bar seating. Relaxed atmosphere, background music just the right kind and volume. Could use a few heaters outdoors. Will go back there for sure.

A nice experience with friends. The menu is small, and very well executed. We (my wife and I) had the mushroom appetizer (outstanding) and made the mistake of sharing the scallop entree. Four scallops between two people don't go far. Our friends got the brussel sprout appetizer, and were pleased with their entrees. The wine selection is a nice combination of local and from further afield and reasonably pricedVery small, and somewhat loud. Reservations are a must if you are going to be more than a couple. Don't expect to make them 'day of' We didn't have reservations and ended up at the wine bar. Made it impossible to have a conversation from the ends of our foursome.Overall we'd go back for wine and appetizers at the bar as a couple. I question how much local repeat business (critical for a beach town in winter) they're going to get with the short menu.
