I had the coconut shrimp & fries, my husband had the chicken sandwich, which I got to sample of course ? It was amazing.Shout out to Griff , our server you rock. Great service! I really don’t understand why they have a “Kids Menu” in this place, once kids are NOT WELCOME as the girl at the door said to me!She said if we really want to order there, we could seat outside, so this way we didn’t have to pay for the cover music too!WHAT?????
Unfortunately, yesterday I had the good idea to show my friends one of my favorites places in Capitola, the Sandbar. Last time, I have been at the bar, the owner was there and we had good service and real funny time. Yesterday the person in charge (the server or bartender)he looked like out or intoxicated, we were waiting 15min for a table with nobody at the bar. Nobody took our orders I went to the bar and the same guy told me wait 20 min more for 3 draft beers and one Coke. Is really sad have employees like that. If this guy continue I don't recommend that place any more. Of course we left immediately.
We were driving from Santa Cruz to Monterey and decided to stop in Capitola. We had our dogs with us and were unsure about where we would stop to eat. While walking around, we found the Sand Bar.What a great little place. The food was really good. The service, from Elli, was great. The prices were as expected. I would definitely stop by again the next time I am there!
If ever there was a manager more rude , I haven’t seen one. My little kids were carrying slice pizza and we adults wanted to order dinner at this restaurant , the guy showed us out in a terrible manner stating outside food aren’t allowed.What’s pathetic about the whole thing was we did exactly the same about couple of months back and no one said anythingThe food is good, will give them that. But they do need a lesson or two in customer service
I had no expectations coming to this restaurant and I am happy to say I was content with what I ate!!!I am a ceviche connoisseur and I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the ceviche was! It has both fish and shrimp ceviche. My preference is usually fish, but this was so good that it didn't matter! I have not been able to find ceviche this good in San Jose- one of the best!!! I also felt the size of it was filling.The clam chowder was good; I would say above average but I have also tasted some that are 5/5 in the past, so this is more like a 4/5.Also, I was not a big fan of the environment inside the restaurant- it seemed too touristy. But luckily, we ate outside in the patio and we were watching the beach and the colorful homes from there. Very nice feel outside and the waitress was really kind!
Fun environment, great band called Alex Lucero & The Live Again Band! Will go back to see them there & enjoy a hand made cocktail from the lovely mixologist.
