Great sushi restaurant with nice service. We thought the portions were very generous. We had different rolls, handrolls and chirashi bowl to eat. Ambient is good.

Arguably the best Sushi place in Santa Cruz. The Capitola location is superior. Nothing special about the service but the food is great and James, one of the sushi chefs is a very nice fellow!
So many things to decide from and all of it good. There is also a great selection of quality sake. I recommend an unfiltered sake if you're getting nigiri! My only complaint is that the staff were slightly unnatentive, but I feel it's understandable considering we ate at 20:00.
Mmmmm. Sushi Garden is definitely a top contender. Most delicious and flavorful food. They have great lunch specials and you get enough food to last for lunch and dinner. When I’m working from home on full beast mode, I pre-order this yumminess online and pick it up for a long day in front of the computer. Went right at opening for dinner. The food was tasty and served quickly. The place was packed by the time we were leaving. Would like to go back for the outdoor seating.

This evening I ordered 3 different rolls which was a disappointment. Two of the rolls where wrapped in a thick amount of rice which gave the texture of the roll heavy resulting in a odd taste. I called the Capitola Sushi Garden who said they were very busy but i was told the owner would call me back. Unfortunately I didn’t get a call back. I’m not looking for a refund - I just wanted to let them know how bad it was.
Reasonable price, relaxing ambiance/setting, satisfying portion, and high quality flavor! Must try Gold Philly and Smokey Barrell.
