The staff was very friendly and Ramen was great i recoment giving this place a try.
We used to visit Santa Cruz a lot and Kaito was always the default when we don’t know what to eat. I love spicy garlic ramen specifically. But we haven’t come to Santa Cruz for almost two years and today we found the store was relocated to a shopping mall. I was a little hesitate but quickly found it’s still the same owner and gladly found it’s still the same quality!
One review said this is the best ramen in Santa Cruz (the only one). I agreed with it, the ramen tasted really not bad. The soup was good, chashu was good, corn was fresh and sweet. Their sushi was also great. I guess whenever I want to eat ramen. I will be back here.
They moved to the Capitola mall they aren’t on 41st ave anymore. The ramen is straight from a cup a noodles thin with no flavor. The “veggies” are just corn green onion and ginger. I got the spicy ramen which comes out to about 15 dollars when this meal is worthy of 8 dollars max. Never coming here again I would avoid it at all costs and just make ramen at home.
Great ramen! They also have a good selection of Japanese desserts.
I used to loooove Kaito but lately they have not been good.My most recent order was mostly noodles & not enough broth. The meat was not very good and was served cold. The broth was wayyy less flavorful than it used to be. It didn’t come with the yummy veggies it used to come with.& the order I got before this one tasted burnt and nasty.It’s too bad since they are literally our only ramen place.
