I couldn’t eat another bite! I love bringing my family here to enjoy my favorite Capitola Mexican spot. I get the Chile Verde every time because it’s the closest I’ve had to my mom’s delicious dish. Everyone else loves their meals here as well. Thank You El Toro! We’ll be back again and again.
Excellent tasty food, wonderful personalized service - felt like I was at a friend’s kitchen. They also have a dedicated vegan menu. Veggie friendly tamales. Their chicken and meat dishes were also really fresh and tasty. Definitely get the chimichangas and the guac
Nice staff. Do not buy the carnitos super burrito it was full of bland refried beans. I would not recommend it.
The staff were friendly and seated us quickly. We were the only guests during our entire time there (6:30pm). The dining area appeared clean and presentable.I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The food was not good. The biggest disappointment was the meat. The carne asada was ground up and flavorless. I would never eat here again. Also, the menu lists pricing for very basic items, then charges extra for every little thing. Want rice, cheese, or anything, pay extra. I would suggest a vegetarian price and meat price to make it simpler. Exact price doesn't matter so charge more if needed to give a better experience.
One of the best burritos I have ever had the pleasure of stumbling across. Had a delightful experience with a friendly staff.
Ordered the super burrito with asada. Annoying that the burrito doesn't come with meat and you have to pay extra for it. Also doesn't come with rice (what?! It's a super burrito). Overall, pretty bland food, including beans, the Asada, and the sauce. Probably wouldn't come back.
You're paying for the location, not the food! I went because they say they have been there since 1967, so I thought the food would be great... unfortunately, not the case. I never send food back, I will eat anything that is edible but my Carne Asada burrito, which they charged $1.50 extra for the meat, came out tasting off putting. I think the meat was old, it tasted like it had turned bad. I had to send the burrito back and ask for the chicken instead. The food did not taste like they cared at all. It was very boring and honestly pretty flavorless. The server was great, very accomidating. I still tipped her 20%.
Got a burrito from here and was honestly kinda disappointed. The burrito was not nearly as flavorful as I expected it to be, which is fine, but it was abysmal as leftovers. I love to have Round 2 on my burritos the next meal, but this one was gross and soggy.
Unfortunately I was disappointed in the food. Most of the food seemed Americanized and it lacked flavor. I was unsatisfied. Though service was really good, the food was not good enough for me to return. This has to be be my least favorite Mexican restaurant that I have ever been to.
I've been here twice, once in 2019, and once in 2021. Both times I've had the best prawn enchiladas I've ever had in my life, definitely worth a visit.
