I leave reviews based off the quality of the food. Customer service and shop seem really nice but got the macarons and they were definitely some of the worst ones I've had in the area and I've tried nearly every bakery in the Bay area. They were way overly sweet, like very syrupy tasting, not soft and airy at all like a macaron should be. A good macaron should be airy and melt in your mouth.If you haven't experienced the quality of what real French macarons taste like I would recommend checking outB Patisserie2821 California St, San Francisco, CA 94115I love pastries and good food and I have done a lot of traveling just to eat. I've spent a fair amount of time in italy, france, Spain and Portuguese while eating at different pastry shops everyday. I have driven multiple cross-country trips hitting up all the major cities and top rated restaurants and bakeries. When I visited Marvel Cake I also visited 10 other bakeries in the Bay area that weekend and got pastries from 5 different coffee shops.
I like the Strawberry Mousse and Pistachio Tart. But the cupcake is too sweet. Environment and decoration are nice.
I am an Event Planner in Dina's Deluxe Events and I work with VIP clients who ask for the best only. It is challenging to find the best vendors but it is possible and Marvel Cake is on the list of our 5 star vendors!Maryam is communicative, friendly and professional. Deliveries are always on time and the cakes are moist, lightly sweetened and flavorful!I recommend Marvel Cake for all your dessert event needs.
To be honest even though the cakes here look fantastic they taste too sweet for me - if you’re like me, usually get 50% or 30% sugar when having boba tea, then cakes here will likely also be too sweet for you.However I’m glad I went back for coffee and bakery. They are really good! Especially the croissant is very crispy and buttery. I also enjoyed their tea room, every table is decorated with lovely fresh flowers, that made my day!
Like other reviewers have stated, the customer service here is very very poor. 2 star only for the elegant and pristine-looking pastries. I purchased a variety for takeout and was disappointed in the flavor and texture of the pastries. Reading from reviews that custom cakes are tasty, I have been trying twice now to get a custom cake ordered with at least a week’s notice and have been turned away both times. I don’t know if they are just focused only on in-stores goods and no longer do custom cakes or what. However, I think this last “rejection”, being the 3rd strike, makes them out for me.
All their cakes and breads are amazing, but their cupcakes, especially the vanilla cupcake, are to die for. The cream and the filling pack so much flavor, and it's so moist you don't need coffee or milk - you almost don't want any drink to distract from the wonderful flavor. Daily cakes are amazing - I normally don't like buttercream but theirs is just amazing, and the cake itself is once again so moist. I have not had a cake that's more moist than Marvel. This is not only one of the best bakeries in South Bay - it's one of the best in the world, after having tried quite a few excellent bakeries in US, Europe and Asia.
Marvel Cake is an outstanding bakery with a wide variety of specialty desserts, baked goods, espresso drinks, and teas. I highly recommend trying either their lavender or rose latte. They are very delicious! Also, you really can't go wrong in choosing any of their desserts. I find that they are very flavorful while being not overly sweet. Definitely a go-to place when going out for a treat!

Fabulous refinement with spectacular result. Beautiful pastries which taste even better than they look. The couple of mocha was delightful. Not a harsh bitter coffee but a kiss to the palate on every sense.
Great cakes and ambience, but where they lack is service. Their staffs are very inattentive and make you feel like a ghost.Every time I visit, I wait front of the cake display for good 5 minutes while their staffs don't even acknowledge me nor other customers (it wasn't even busy!)
