Today was my second (2), visit to Locanda Sorento, Campbell for lunch. Both experiences were terrific! We were welcomed at the door seated in areas that were very comfortable, the first visit we sat in the back room and today by the front door. Service was extraordinary on both visits. Sadly I cannot recall the young woman’s name from Italy that served us on the first visit but Marco served us today. Both were excellent. I requested a bit of modification on the salmon I ordered and was accommodated without hesitation. This is on the road to being my fav Italian restaurant. The environment is bright and cheerful, the staff all seem to work together happily, food and service excellent! Thank you Locanda Sorento folks for two wonderful luncheon experiences. Looking forward to many more!
I had picked up food to go previously, but tonight I had a chance to enjoy a relaxing dinner at the restaurant. This restaurant has fantastic food served in a wonderful atmosphere. It was a pleasure to dine at Locanda Sorrento.
We had a wonderful experience at the bar. We had the meatball trio with pistachio, truffle, and marinara which was a great start. Followed up by a honey drizzled spinach salad, and topped off with the carbonara and lobster ravioli. Both incredible! We had a brunello Di montalcino wine, the Cellini fashioned and via partenope. All amazing beverages. The staff loves their job and can be heard singing Italian classical music throughout the restaurant. The hazelnut gelato and pistachio cheesecake were the cherry on top. What a treat this evening was. Thank you Locanda Sorrento.
The food was great. I had the sea bass which was very fantastic, the texture was almost like halibut. The gnocchi was good too. My go-to item for my future visits very soon. We did not get to check out the dessert menu.
the food was incredible! all the tomato sauces were so fresh. my lobster ravioli were so tasty, not over sauced and the addition of the shrimp on top was fantastic. the arugula beet salad had the best light lemon dressing topped with fresh burrata. it was so hard to choose what to eat because I wanted everything on the menu!
One of the best meals I’ve had in the Bay Area in a long time. Warm hospitality and beautiful food and great ambiance.
Lovely new addition to downtown Campbell. Mostly inside seating with a dining room with a bar and then another room to the side. All the food was delicious from the starter bread to the entrees and dessert. The pistachio cheesecake was AMAZING. Definitely will be back. They had just opened when I visited so service was slightly rough but you could tell they were trying their best and manager was very attentive to us to ensure everything was going great.
I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and atmosphere of Locanda Sorrento! It was bright and welcoming with friendly staff. From a two person date to a larger party everyone had an enjoyable evening. So many food options that I’ll have to return and try more. The desserts and homemade limoncello were a great end to the evening. It’s a great new addition to the area.
POV: it's May 2022 and you've just had the best pasta of your entire LIFE.I don't know how long this place has been around, or why it finally decided to show up on my search results for "dinner" one evening, but I'm sure glad it did.Locanda Sorrento is a quaint restaurant occupying a corner spot on the outskirts of downtown Campbell. If you want to park right by the restaurant, it may take effort, but DT Campbell has plenty of public parking a quick walk away. We found a spot by the restaurant just fine.We got seated quickly without a reservation and they immediately got us situated with menus, water, and fresh bread! It was a busy night, despite being close to closing. Luckily, I think we made it a safe amount of time before the kitchen closed.Dishes we tried:- Fresh bread: I do not know what type of bread we were given, though I want to guess sourdough. Either way, it was perfectly crispy (I don't like the chewy crusts that bread can sometimes come with) so it was easy to eat. The pesto that came with the bread was savory and herby; the bread was gobbled up quickly because of this pesto! 5/5!- Caprese Salad: It was great, but the only acidic element came from four tomato confit. The ratio of ingredients wasn't my favorite. 3/5 will try the fried apps next time.- Linguine del golfo: Smelled great and looked beautiful. ?/5 I didn't eat it.- Carbonara: AL DENTE pasta has never been cooked so well for me. I always bite into pasta expecting it to be a tad overcooked, but this was chewy, hearty, and so so good! I'm ruined for other pastas. I also love that they didn't add peas into this dish, like many other places tend to. The sauce was thick and delicious and the bacon pieces were great. For people who have eaten good udon before, the pasta here had a similar springiness that makes it a star. 6/5 when can we go back??- Tiramisu: Beautiful presentation and tasted great on the edges. The center tasted way too soaked for my liking. 3/5 would try something else next time.- Chocolate Tartufo: We didn't know what this was going into and it was delightful! If you love chocolate and gelato, this is an easy choice. 4/5!For two people, you can typically just share a dessert. Protip for those who's eyes are bigger than their stomachs like me.I really love the atmosphere they have crafted in this restaurant. Additionally, we were able to catch the staff member singing Happy Birthday to some guests. Let me tell you, this isn't your typical awkward staff singing for awkward guest situation. Hearing this guy sing is an EXPERIENCE. He sounds so good, that it makes me want to bring others here for their birthday! ? Can't wait to come back!
Loved the taste of this Napoli cuisine. It felt like we were swept away to Italy. The owners have big warm personalities. The impressive serenades by Davide and delicious desserts top it all off. Great place for date night!
