If you are looking for ambiance, this is not the place. BUT if you are looking for good breakfast and good you can come here. Really good breakfast. Kind of pricey 60 dls breakfast for two. Tables outside. Good service. Pet friendly. Big plates. You can share there is enough food
Thursday is the day my uncle and I go hiking and then out to lunch. Since we'd "hiked" on the Los Gatos Creek trail, we were nearby Effie's, and my uncle, having been there years ago, wanted to try it. However, this was MY first time at Effie's, and it was good. There wasn't a crowd, so we were able to pick our table wherever we wanted. Our waitress, Robin, was exceptional. Quite the busy bee, darting from table to table (both inside and outside!), and never ONCE did my tea or my uncle's coffee go unfilled!My uncle had his favorite cheese omelet with potatoes. I usually go with a salad (and their taco salad looked DELICIOUS), but I decided to try the House Club sandwich with French fries. I'm glad I did. As you can see in the picture, it was quite a hearty lunch! The French fries were perfectly cooked, and the sandwich was the great. My only complaint would be with the iced tea. It was starting to get that what I call "skunky" taste, meaning it was an older batch and not freshly made. Still, I drank it since it wasn't yet to the point of not being drinkable.Other than that setback, all was well at Effie's, and I hope to return to try that taco salad.
Me and my wife visited this location for dinner, one of the waitress told us to sit anywhere we'd like, there were 2 waitresses, and the one that helped us seemed to be in a rush, eventhough she said hi, she asked us if we were ready, we said not quite ready and she walked away, the coffe we got was cold and seemed to be sitting in the pot for a long time, she came back and took our order, we ordered a sampler appetizer that came at the same time as the dinner, my Philly cheese steak was good and hot, the French fries were cold, my wife ordered the taco salad and had a good presentation but as she started to eat it looked like they chopped 3 hamburger patties and placed them on top of a handful of lettuce, the waitress disappeared for a few minutes and we had to call the bus boy so my wife can order something else, then the waitress came and we told her the situation and she rolled her eyes and took the new order, the she came and dropped the French toast which half wasn't cook all the way, she never came back to check on us, finally she came and slammed the check on the table and walked away, we didn't want to complain about the food cos she might think we wanted free food. Anyway we always go to country inn in prospect. But tonight we wanted to give it a try here. It's sad how restaurant business is not what it used to be, nowadays owners managers are so greedy that the only thing they care is to make money, and servers see that if they are careless(owners and managers) of course nobody cares, I used to work for a long time in the restaurant business and was totally different great service and good food( this is the second order we got. Just to prove that is not BS!!!!
Good breakfast. My spouse liked the biscuit and gravy. The hot water for my tea was the correct temperature - something that other places have trouble getting right.
3/18/2022 at 11:00am. The only place offering prime rib every day. It's been around 1988. Furniture have been reupholstered. Only place offering cloth napkins for breakfast and lunch. One of the few place offering fine dining at standard pricing
Very nice staff working, super friendly and the food was awesome! I will definitely go back for sure, this is my new recommendation for hidden treasure. Glad i finally went inside. Bartender on Saturday night was super cool and she played great nostalgic music. Older 70's and 80's rock music.
Went there for the first time a few days ago. It really was quite the surprise! I love the vibe in there. Also has a cool lounge/bar if you want to grab some drinks. Very delicious food as well. I highly recommend a visit here!
I love this place. I have tried 3 different breakfast items. They were all incredible. And the staff is amazing as well. Michelle is the best!

This restaurant doesn't get enough credit. The menu has a very good selection of items and the staff is very friendly, and you won't go broke trying to feed the family on a night out.
