This is a really sweet French Café. We love coming here on our visits to Ventura. It’s our first stop before heading to the beach. The food is delicious and thoughtful and the service is fantastic.
What a great, delicious, friendly place! The pain au Chocolat is an art piece. The cafe is efficient as well as warm and inviting so you can stay and chill or grab and go. Worth a trip and a tip!Update: I made a mistake on my order and went to buy the correct vegetarian version and they refused to take my money and remade it - a true class act.
People here are nice but I was so bummed. I ordered their waffle breakfast with sunnyside up eggs and bacon and a cup of tea. It came out to around $25 or so. I went in right when it opened and on a Saturday. I was the 3rd person to order and it wasn't busy yet. I got my food rather quickly and ended up so disappointed. I was starving and dead tired from working a night shift. I wanted a nice meal and to go home. I ended up forcing myself to eat the old severely overcooked (also seemed recooked and not fresh) and unbearably salty bacon that turned to powder in my mouth. It wasn't even hot bacon, just luke warm. The "eggs" was actually just ONE measly egg with chives on top. And I eat it just to find an egg shell underneath! I was like, okay 2 strikes but the waffle looks okay. The strawberries in the sauce on the waffle were old and dull and when I took a bite... Low and behold the waffle was undercooked!!! I couldn't even eat it. They offered to recook the waffle but I was too tired for any confrontation or anything. They offered a refund but I said "it's okay I'll just enjoy my tea". They gave me a refund anyways which I'm grateful for but unfortunately I won't be back.
0 star for the Matcha (really sorry, but it is that bad) and 5-star for location and customer services. This Cafe is Cute. It is located in a great location with a great atmosphere. There were plenty of seating inside and outside. But don't get the matcha latte here. The butterfly matcha latte is just milk and sugar, unfortunately. You could not taste any hint of matcha. I was hoping for the best but went away disappointed. I will try their regular latte next time.
I took my wife here for Breakfast yesterday because she wanted to go to Camarillo outlet on our way back from Santa Barbara. I was able to find parking right in front of the place. When we walked inside, there were a couple of tables open for us to sit. I got the English Muffin Sandwich and my wife got their Strawberry crepes. It didn't long for our food to come out and when I was putting in our order, I had small talk with the lady servicing us and I told her that we were on our honeymoon. So when she came to give us our food, she sang for us which was appreciated by us. I enjoy my Muffin Sandwich and my wife really loved her Strawberry crepes. She also got their iced Mocha Latte as well.
WOW! My friend and I had breakfast here, I had their English muffin which I wasn't impressed with BUT I brought home 2 of their pastries. One is the Pain du Matin the other a Kouign Amann - one is a small size loaf of pull apart bread the other an amazingly flaky rolled up something or other. I'm sorry that I can't give better descriptions, you seriously need to just go there and try them. I'm picky and honestly didn't expect to be as impressed as I am. Way to go Cafe Ficelle~ Now I'll have to go to their Ventura location which I believe is larger and has more to offer. So much for losing weight :)
Great coffee and delicious food. I had the breakfast croissant and a cup of coffee which were both great. We also had a waffle with blueberry and ricotta that was incredible. The cappuccino and americanos were also great. We took a couple English muffins, a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant for breakfast the next day and were not disappointed in those either! Everyone was really nice, helpful, and accommodating.
Great spot. Food options are good, and the pastries are outstanding. I'm just not a fan of their coffee, which is important to me. But, this doesn't stop me from going.
This has become one of my favorite stops for coffee and treats. They are cozy french inspired cafe in different locations in Ventura County. Love their menu, coffee and decor. Makes me feel like I am in France enjoying some cafe au lait.
Really good! Delicious food. I would highly recommend giving this place a try. The lattes were amazing and they also have mimosas! Cafe Ficelle is a hidden gem. They have amazing French pastries and offer an awesome atmosphere for brunch. I will definitely return for a chocolate croissant.
