Used to recommend the place many years ago. 2nd visit after many years was quite disappointing. Many minor issues which I won’t even call details. Ingredients are not impressive and are not elevated either. Below average even calibrated for SF Bay.
A (not so) hidden gem in downtown Burlingame. The sushi here is top top notch, rivaling even the best sushi found in San Francisco, for a fraction of the price. Every fish in my Chirashi was fresh and excellent, and our side dishes were as well. Marinated baby octopus, suonomo salad, fresh wasabi, perfectly seasoned hirame. 10/10 will be visiting again.
It was good, but I think is a little expensive, I order a chicken teriyaki that usually come with rice and vegetables, and sometimes miso soup, the only thing that came with the order is the chicken in the photo for 18 dollars. I have to order rice for 4 and miso soup for 4.50.
Good sushi tempura but nothing particularly special. Quiet pleasant setting.
I love sushi and this is one of the best places on the Peninsula - amazing nigiri and rolls. The fish is so fresh and many selections are flown from Japan. Everything on the menu is superb, you can’t go wrong no matter what you order. They also have a full menu with traditional cooked items. Some of the fish from Japan (sold by the piece) could be expensive so check prices before you order. I can eat here every day, it’s that good! And the atmosphere is really fun. The owner/chef is always there and talking to customers if you are sitting at the sushi bar. My favorite sushi restaurant hands down.
Prompt courteous service; many options from Japan and all over the world, my favorite the Hokkaido scallops.
Incredible sushi experience here.. carefully crafted sashimi and a lovely conversation with the chef made the night more than memorable. Some of the best sushi in Bay Area.
The best sushi available. Authentic Japanese sushi chefs and staff. Incredible selection of sake.
Disappointed. Ordered 5 different sushi and only 1 turned out to be good. Others are either bland or the toppings are soggy.. Also ordered grilled asparagus with steak wrap with high hope which ends up being hideous. Don’t trust the rating, won’t come back again!
Hmmmmm. Chose this place because of the rating. Ordered at least ten things. ONE was good (maguro tuna). Service was mediocre. Seems to be a popular local haunt. Underwhelming. Won’t be back.
