Fresh crisp veggies and perfectly seasoned dishes. The rainbow chicken and rainbow prawns were wonderful. The coconut rice was excellent as was the combination fried rice. The sauteed mushrooms and asparagus was ok but my daughter wanted to order it because she had it there before and said it was delicious. So apparently it was just an off night for that dish.Service was quick and friendly. The prices were a bit high for the size of the dishes especially the coconut rice. But I will definitely go there again. Just don't expect to go home with leftovers.
I originally set out in hunt of traditional style Mexican food. The place a few blocks down was so disappointing in atmosphere and smell that I didn't even bother to sit down. So I took to walking and let my nose be my guide. I spotted the unobtrusive red sign claiming Burmese food and thought "what the hey, I'll give it a try."I had never eaten Burmese food before and wanted to try something classic. Josh, the very pleasant young man who waited on me, made a suggestion for Burmese style chicken curry and coconut rice. The chicken in this dish is all dark meat and it was very tender and moist. The seasonings were well blended and not overpowering. The rice was beautifully cooked and had a mild sweet after note that went well with the curry. This is a hidden San Francisco gem.
expensive is wot I can say compared to other Indian/thai restaurants food was fine n hot to serve. not sure wot else to say giving the obligatory 100 min words
It's a decent Burmese restaurant in the middle of downtown Burlingame. The menu is pretty extensive. The food was good. Service was OK; on a cold and windy evening we had to fight for the heater and the staff didn't look too friendly.
Can't really attest to the authenticity of Burmese but it feels like a fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors. Tried the tea leaf salad, Burmese pork potato curry and house special noodles. The tea leaf salad was good but not special tasted just like shredded cabbage with peanuts. The house special noodles was a bit lacking in flavor maybe spicy wouldn't been better. Neither of those I works prefer again. The pork curry was amazing! I could eat just that with rice next time. Pork was tender stewed with a rich and slightly spicy red curry sauce. Service was adequate. Large outdoor seating area.
Solid Burmese option on Burlingame avenue. We went on a Sunday night and the atmosphere wasn't so great with tons of doordash drivers lined up inside the restaurant waiting for their pickups. We enjoyed the tea leaf salad. Two of the steak and chicken dishes we ordered spicy came out mild. I think this place is best on slower weekday nights when there is less delivery demand and the wait staff can be more attentive.
Phenomenal restaurant serving Burmese and Mandarin dishes. It is much better than the similar restaurant a few doors down. We mainly order Bernese dishes: coconut chicken soup with noodles, House special noodles, paratha, curries. Oh, please bring back ginger lamb, it’s our favorite!
This restaurant is so delicious. The portions are always huge as well so I'm able to take more home for lunch the next day. My go to dishes usually the beef chow fun. Always has a ton of flavor and very fresh. Would highly recommend.
Food is not bad but very pricy. A $17 curry doesn't come with rice and you have to add $5 for a bowl of coconut rice. Not sure if it's the sunny winter weather or what, there were so many small flies lingering around most of the outdoor seatings. There are better Burmese restaurants in the area.
I ordered for delivery and it was surprisingly good. The pan fried string beans with prawns was tasty, shrimp was fresh, but the dish is on the oily side. Singapore style noodles were good. Paratha was tasty, like a buttery croissant, I wish the portion size was bigger
