Very good and popular dim sum restaurant. Food was hot and served efficiently. Presentation was also very good
Very nice up scale dim sum. Little more pricier, but food was good and we had a very good waiter. Had reservations on a Tuesday at 12:30pm, and they were still busy. About a 20 minute wait. Our group had a table next to the window.... what a great view of the bay. Seeing airplanes land and the splendor of the bay.
We stopped here after our flight from Seattle to SF. What an amazing view of the planes coming in. The dim sum is great as well. We got here at 1030am when it first opened on a Monday and the place filled up fast. Since it was during the week they did not have a dim sum cart, everything was ordered from the dim sum paper and arrived fresh. Not sure if they offer dim sum cart on the weekend or not.
Came here for a wedding banquet and every dish we had was perfect or close to perpect. Instead of the usual honey walnut shrimps we were served the twist of this dish - Honey spare ribs and veggie croquettes. It was delish. The uni fried rice at the end was a bit fishy but it was seasoned right and it hit the spot.
The dim sum is not bad here. We arrived at 11:30 am on a Friday and got a table right away. There was huge line after we arrived at 12pm. The food came out fairly quickly and we devoured it. I do like the ordering system where there are pictures of the food and you get to mark up the dim sum brochure. We had four non-Chinese friends with us and it was helpful for them because they don't read Chinese. In term of quality of the dim sum, I had better at other restaurants. These were decent. The lobster noodles $44 were OK. Not great. It was a tiny lobster with hardly any meat. The highlight for me was the giant zongzi, a sticky rice with meats wrapped in lotus leaves. This is not to be confused with lo mai gai, chicken with other meats lotus leaves wrap. Those are smaller and come in two's in a standard steamer. Overall, good job staff at HL Peninsula. We had a good lunch today.
Ok speaking as a white girl who just stumbled into this place having no clue what I walked into and not being able to read the menu, this place was fantastic. So I ordered off the picture menu and got what I think is sea cucumber. This was spiced with wasabi and was a texture somewhere between jello and a pickle. It's not something I would order again; however it was good. Next came the soup and holy cow that was absolutely fantastic! It was super hot and filled to the brim with tons of seafood (shrimp, scallop, fish, shellfish, mussel, prawn) and was spiced just right. The soup was absolutely huge and I honestly wish I had ordered just that. The food came with hot tea and a dessert soup. I asked and it was green pea dessert soup. It was also fantastic and I wish I hadn't been so full so I could eat it all. 10/10 I would go again for the Tom Yum Soup and the pea soup.
1590 Old Bayshore Hwy, Burlingame, CA 94010 is my go-to pizza spot in Burlingame, CA. They are very punctual with their orders and never keep me waiting. They always are nice and courteous to me when I pick up an order. They have so many options to choose from which is great.
Went for dim sum. Menu very similar to sister restaurant in south San Francisco. By the water and hence nice view of the bay area. Good and prompt service. Very good HK style food.
You can watch airplanes take off and landing while enjoying the dim sum. The price is very reasonable.I think the other HL restaurants are slightly better than here though.
We had a great time! The food was good. Service was good too.So many interesting dishes we saw go by.
