3.5 stars. Based on what we ordered. Grilled chicken bento and grilled chicken with spicy sauce including tempura with steamed rice and a couple pieces of veggie sushi. Along with a portion of salad and sides. In addition we had 2 bulgagi. Dinners with same tempura and fried chicken. This was good, however the rest of the dishes was okay. was as they say, nothing to write home about. As always, please post wherever your palate takes you in, in this case , Burbank.
We were in town apartment hunting from my son and were long overdue for a good sushi meal. I looked at all the reviews online and found this place and we decided to go. They definitely did not disappoint. The fish was extremely fresh and the rolls were very good. Very flavorful and decent size - not too big, not too small. The entire meal was thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love this place. This is my partner and my regular spot for quality and tasty Japanese food. The wait staff is friendly and professional; and the food is top notch. Highly recommended!
This place was an unexpected surprise. My friend wanted to come for her birthday. The first thing I thought was strip mall sushi? I'll go back! Great food priced right and the service was perfect. Parking can be challenging as the lot is small but definitely worth the trip. Don't let the strip mall fool you! Get in there and have some good sushi! The roles were really good too!
Tokyoya Sushi has the best fresh sushi in Burbank. I have tried many around the area, and Tokyoya still had superior sushi. I will miss you guys since I moved
Favorite sushi restaurant in the area!! Always delicious. Great friendly service and the vibes of the place are cool!!
Favorite Japanese restaurant in LA since moving here from the east coast a year ago. Prices aren’t ridiculous, the atmosphere is good it’s busy and trendy, and the food is delicious.
Really great sushi and quick service
This is our regular go-to for Japanese food! Great sushi and I love their tonkatsu curry and chicken teriyaki! Affordable prices and friendly staff!
Tokyoya Sushi was very good during it's soft opening many years ago. Then suddenly, they changed their format and offered bento boxes. I see that they are receiving a lot of good reviews recently but last night maybe it was just a fluke but my boyfriend brought home food and it was substandard. I was not happy. The sashimi was warm almost like it was seared ahi. Maybe sashimi doesn't travel well. But then the teriyaki salmon was so hard and dry. The veggie tempura tasted sour and like boiled cabbages. I am not sure what happened. It was just a bad day? The miso soup was good but the salad was just leaves of spinach. I was afraid to even try the beef teriyaki. It didn't look good at all. I am afraid to give this place another try. Prior experience was also lackluster. Ever since Momotaro closed in Burbank, we have yet to find a Japanese restaurant that meets Momotaro's calibre. Our favorite now is Ichima in Pasadena. But the best sashimi hands down is H Mart in Arcadia.Update a day later. I only ate the soup and the salad and I tasted the fish. I spit out the sashimi. In an effort not to waste food and money, my boyfriend took all the food and ate it for lunch. He went home from work sick with a stomach ache and more. He will survive but today he is still recovering. We should have taken it back but it was after hours and that's our lesson learned. We won't be going back.
