The chirasi bowl and the shrimp killer was great. Clean and comfortable tables, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The owner here was terrific and really cared about putting out good food at a reasonable price. I recommend it!
This place is a real deal, nothing fancy just fresh beautiful traditional sushi. We had to wait half an hour for our table but it was worth the wait. Service was friendly, sit at the bar if you can!
The sushi and variety is ok so I'm keeping this 2 stars not 1. I used to like coming here, but the owner has turned me off bad mouthing customers to the staff in Korean. The low point was hearing the owner tell the sushi chef to lick the customer's food because they're Japanese. They didn't do it, but enough is enough.I'm just adding to my comment as the owner responded and responding back... I was at the right location. On San Fernando, by Exotic Thai in Burbank. I'm don't think you're truly sorry but maybe embarrassed. You need to respect your customers and not profile them.
Had to get it to go since its a 45 min wait, with open tables sitting there none the less.. Can't just move a covid barrier and put two tables together? No bento boxes, no beef no bowls other than poke... Ordered two poke bowls, two chicken udon soups, Alaskan roll and some other salmon roll (fuj roll). Poke salad was delicious, sad it wasn't a poke bowl... Change the name. Asked for veggies instead of rice, no dice!Waiter asked do you want crisp onions, seaweed etc on the udon, he asked as he noticed my kids? Told him put it on the side....nope. Chef tossed it all together. Read directions chef. Not the waiters fault, I watched him write directions down. Rolls looked awesome tasted horrible. Beautiful quality fish placed over something that didn't taste good. What was that? I spit it out. Actually SPIT it out in the sink. Stripped off the fish ate sashimi instead! Tiny minuscule amount of Wasabi. Heard great things about this place, didn't find them. Hopefully it was just a bad day, sadly I doubt I will go back. Place in Noho makes a better and bigger poke salad...
It's all in the food and service for me. Everytime we go we order at least 3 spicy tuna hand rolls. It might look like any other handroll but it's packed with flavors. The tuna to rice ratio is crazy. Everything else is really good too. Their 911 roll tastes like a korean hwaedukbap (iykyk) topped with lots of fresh sashimi peices. My go to place when I'm in the area! It seems to get very packed around weekend lunch so time wisely!
Went on 5:15 on a Friday. Didn't have to wait, sat at the bar. They only have 3 regular tables plus the bar. I recommend going early. The food as a whole was delicious. The miso soup came out first and was was steaming hot. I enjoyed the sashimi, 3 large pieces of salmon and tuna. The chicken katsu was tender. The shrimp tempura was crispy but not authentic tempura. The steamed rice was bit hard also. They provide plenty of wasabi and sauces for the tempura and chicken cutlet. The prices are very reasonable, I will definitely come back again.
The food is good, but if you get takeout, it’s all in styrofoam containers. Their business is selling food harvested from the oceans, but when plastics (such as hard-to-recycle styrofoam) are used at scale, they are incredibly bad for the oceans, per Monterey Bay Aquarium.Plus the food doesn’t even need to be served hot— so it’s not for any culinary reason. (Sugarfish uses boxboard for takeout, for instance).
I had a great experience at Nico Nico. The food is very fresh and tasty and the customer service was amazing. I would definitely suggest anyone in the area that wants a quick snack or a good meal to stop by this place.
place is small, sushi is really good. Pops up in search as all you up can eat. It wasn’t, price was reasonable for the amount of sushi ordered. Would definitely come back.
