First off, the food tastes great and there is a good amount of food. Those would usually rate 4 stars minimum. But the price is up there. 21 bucks for a hawaiian bbq mix and that is without a drink. I guess I am spoiled by Yaki's on alameda. Then there is the flies while eating outside. Seemed like at least once a minute i had to get one off of me or my food.
Ohmygod i had to stop myself from going here every day I was in Burbank. The bbq chicken is so tender and delicious, and the macaroni salad pairs so well with it. Great deal for such delicious food. Tried the spam masubi too which wasn't bad - I'd never had it before but it tastes the way you think rice+seaweed+spam would taste. I also love the low key atmosphere. Not many options for vegetarians.
Good portion sizes. Pleasant flavors. Salmon teriyaki needs pineapple added as well as some veggies. Pork ribs were tasty. Staff is lively, fun, and helpful!
I've tried some other Hawaiian BBQ places closer to me, but for me, it's Moana all day any day. Everytime I get to Burbank I try to make the time to go to Moana. Sometimes I'm in town too early and it hasn't opened yet. But they by far have the best flavor, for me. I always get the BBQ Beef. Is it pricey, a bit. But when no one else's compares or lives up to the taste for me, I'll pay it. Wish I lived close enough to have it delivered, but it's just slightly out of range. Now I'm really wanting some.

Hawaiian beef BBQ + chicken katsu combo w/ steamed rice, macaroni salad, grilled jalapeno - 5 ?!It would be nice if Hawaiian BBQ was more popular in LA so there were more options. Moana is pretty awesome. Huge plate. Very fresh food and qood quality ingredients. They also have a nice menu selection. I will have to come back and try more of it.This plate was excellent.
This place is delicious! I just wish they didn't give you a full onion in the macaroni which is why I only give 4 stars. They should remove the onions completely and it would be perfect.
I've been coming to Moana's for years now. Their employees are always the nicest and polite people you will ever meet. The food is amazing and always cooked well. So good that I get 2 Hawaiian BBQ plates for myself. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves meat, excellent customer service, and good atmosphere.
This was an amazing experience from the hospitality and heavenly art. I can't wait to visit here from Georgia again.
Our favorite Hawaiian restaurant is under new ownership!! Looks like a really nice couple just took over this location. They were very welcoming and attentive. Food prep time and quality still the same, but no longer have to worry about the questionable service. Looked like they were still training and getting up to speed. We'll be visiting more often and will let you know how things trend, but so far so great!
