Before go in and have dinner at this place, I would strong suggest a walk around the block to see their grease interceptor/sewer line spilling dirty water into the city storm drain. The island Burger restaurant grease interceptor/sewer is overflowing and dirty water is spilling into the city storm drain system. The grease interceptor is located on the back of the restaurant on N First Street. This issue is been happening for the past two weeks at least. They tried to fixed but the problem is back again. Two weeks. When they tried to fixed the issue they left the side walk dirty and full of grease, which is a trip hazard for pedestrians. This is not the first time that the grease interreceptor overflows and spills into the city storm drain. Each time this happens it takes the restaurant a long time to get the issue resolved.
I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients used by this establishment. The quality of the olive oil alone is remarkable. My friend and I ordered (highly recommended) octopus potatoes, beef carpaccio, duck ragu and a plate of shrimp pasta. Because how amazing the restaurant is - the prices are absolutely reasonable. I will be back again.
Food was meh. Had burger and beer. They wouldn't cook the burger medium rare so I was forced to get a burger that was more cooked than I preferred and it had too much mustard. Fries were meh. Hostess wouldn't give us a big table for 2 people even though there were literally only 2 people in the empty restaurant (see photos). Luckily waiter was cool with us moving tables. Free guacamole was nice if you sign up for their app. This place generally gets high reviews for nice decor and large portions but if you are searching for delicious food search elsewhere.
Maybe I'm mis-remembering. Swear the burger used to be too big to finish in 1 sitting. Now, basically a whopper with too much lettuce and a soggy bottom. Also too much Mustard, which I love, usually. Probably not going back.
This was probably the worst food I’ve ever tasted. I’ve never asked any restaurant to take food away but the fish tacos smelled and tasted disgusting. The burgers were just okay. My kids barely ate them. We will never return. I wish I could give zero stars
Islands in Burbank, has very poor service. The place is empty and its not because of the pandemic. It just plain bad service, from the management to the servers, etc. Call in an order yesterday, wanted to pick up food for V Day and the person who answered the phone, a young lady Bella I think, said she couldn't take my order, that she had to transfer me. She transferd me and a voicemail answer. called again, and same thing. I mean what kind of business is this? how can they survive like this. They should try to have more manners and better customer service. My husband had to go in and order and they still gave him a hard time. Never coming back here, they don't care about there customers. no wonder this place is empty. bad food, bad service, bad management.
Islands has tasty truffle fries and some unique drinks. Hawaiian burger and a lava flow beverage is a must try for anyone with a sweeter tooth
Even tough other Islands in other cities have been a great experience, this ine in Burbank was not, the fries were cold and hard good only for the trash can, they took them away and the server did not came back with the new fries until the whole family was finish eating, a shame since the one Island in Porter Ranch has the greates fries. This Island one not only gave me the worst fries ever but they had the nerve to charge me extra for requesting to take away their awful fries and bring me fresh ones!. The service was also awful. Just to be fair, the hamburger I had was excellent and big and juicy, but I ate with no fries! They should know better, you got to have your fries when eating your hamburger! And serve them hot and crispy to begin with.
The service was great and very polite too. Food was delicious and drinks were refreshing. Our server was very helpful and the wait was not very long.
Great Food and Service. Great gathering with family.
