Tastes just like Memphis! Flavorful and moist chicken fried in peanut oil. It keeps everything simple.I love getting either the wings or leg and thigh combo and upgrading the coleslaw to potato salad. I like the baked beans gravy to touch my potato salad. There is something about the tangy potato salad and sweet baked beans that make me dance in my seat.

I have no idea why people come here or have anything nice to say about it. I’ve been seeing this place for a while and hearing about it and was so excited to finally try it but it’s by far the most disgusting fried chicken I’ve had in my life. The chicken was so dry it was inedible, both the tenders and the regular pieces. No taste either to redeem the awful texture. The sides tasted like they came out of a can. Chick-fil-A and Raising Canes would win an award next to this food.

If you're debating about where to go eat- just stop looking and go to Gus's. That's how we ended up here and we are really happy we did.We were passing by Burbank on our way back home, and decided to look up best places to eat; we're so happy that we decided to eat at Gus's! We were met by a friendly face, Miles, who set us up with a table right away. The restaurant is open, well lit, and clean. We were a party of 6, and we all ordered a lil bit of everything, pretty much. I really wanted fried pickles, but unfortunately they didnt have any at the time. However when the food came out, the chicken was perfectly fried with amazing flavor and a bit of a kick. The collard greens were flavorfull, beans were perfect, Mac n cheese was GREAT, we also ordered a side of the potato salad, which Im so happy we did because it's to die for! A gentleman, who I seen cooking in the back, came out and brought us honey to try with the chicken...amazing pair, by the way! Miles was really attentive, and friendly, which is always appreciated!

Flavorful chicken, fried okra, fried green tomatoes. We had attentive service, and enjoyed the eclectic music choices. It's obvi they use quality ingredients in everything. The fried chicken is juicy and spicy, my son and I could not hang, but the man loved it. The tenders are not as spicy. Split the chocolate checkerbord pie w vanilla bean ice cream for dessert and it def did NOT disappoint!4 stars only because the menu is very limited. If you love collard greens, coleslaw, and baked beans, you are in luck.

We love Gus's. My family eats here at least once a week. The service is always fantastic and friendly. There's nothing to complain about. It's all great!

The chicken was amazing. The sweet potato pie was good, too.The potato salad was alright. I wouldn’t say the Mac n cheese was good at all. Customer service was great. The restrooms were cleaned. Overall, the experience was good. It is not a soul food restaurant, but the items on there are soul food. The style of food is Hispanic/Mexican style.

Just loved it here! Reminds me of being back home. I loved the atmosphere and the music, too. Even better was the customer service!!! Awesome place!! The food was delicous and comforting! I know where to go when I want a slice of home!Miles was an awesome server. Always rocked a smile and did a great job with the recommendations. We started with the Fried Okra. I tried not to fill up on them because they were so good! The food came out pretty fast, too! The chicken was juicy and I love whatever they coated the chicken with! Super light, yet crispy and had the perfect amount of heat. The greens are delicious. Nothing better than some greens that tastes like my me-maw cooked. Tasted just the same. Even had bacon in it, too. The macaroni and cheese was cooked perfectly! I love the texture of al dente pasta and the amount of cheesiness was on point. The beans were very tasty and had just the right amount of sweetness just like their fresh brewed iced tea. I love the succulent pieces of fat in the beans-definitely a plus in my books. They serve your chicken with a slice of bread and it literally just brought me back home to Virginia when I got my plate and saw that piece was hiding under my chicken!!So, I will NEVER purchase Sweet Potato Pie from anywhere else. The minute I took a bite, I was in heaven. The pie was bliss. This place nailed it. I'm going to buy a whole pie next time. This is not processed sweet potatoes or like canned pumpkin pie filling. They used real sweet potatoes. I know sweet potato pie is hard to find because we've been searching for a while. This pie and all their pies are homemade AND you can taste it. Holy moly. Don't buy a slice - bring home a pie. I can't wait to try the rest of their desserts. Heck, we're coming back to try the chicken tenders and coleslaw, too with a root beer float!

Great food will be going back for sure

This place is a must go-to if you're craving classic fried chicken. There's nothing like experiencing the flavor rush of the hot and juicy interior after breaking through the perfectly seasoned and ultra crunchy exterior. I love how it's not over seasoned or breaded as most other places. It's just the goods and what you want when you go here. The staff is friendly and hospitable. We even cracked a couple of jokes throughout our stay. It makes the place feel more comfortable, and it's not because it's comfort food. ;DI'd most definitely come here again or any other location if I'm in the mood for some fried chicken. You should go here if you haven't been yet. You will not be disappointed.

Ordered the 3 piece meal, and WOW this chicken is spicy. I barely tasted the chicken as the spice seemed to overwhelm the flavor of the chicken. Got the mac n cheese and baked beans for sides. mac was a bit dry and the beans seem to from a can of pork n beans. The drumstick I did eat had me sweating from the heat.
