Fresh sushi good quality as always! Love this place and thought I'd leave it a review because I never leave any reviews. The only only only small thing which is my pet peeve is the wait to pick up my order which is understandable except I'm just a super impatient person when I'm hungry.
We used to love this this place. Sadly it has really changed for the worst. The last 3 times we have been the staff was awful we had to flag them down to ask for soy sauce, water, napkins. Dishes were not cleared. The food was not up to par and gnats were in the rice. I know restaurants are struggling that’s why I continued to go back thinking maybe it would get better but it hasn’t. Never going back.
I would give them 4 stars but the staff was so courteous I found it difficult to not give them 5.The reason I would give them a 4 is solely because their sushi guy didn't come in the day I came in or does not know how to roll the rice. Most of the handrolls came out with the rice haphazardly sticking on and falling apart. While this is not a serious issue, it seemed the rice was also not fresh or undercooked. For a place that specializes in sushi, it seems a little silly for my handrolls to come out looking like an amateur made them... but the baked rolls managed to save the day.Overall the sushi is edible (and quite affordable if I can say so myself) but needs work on looking presentable; as it is now, the joint is fine as a quick stop for the common man but to hold it's own in the sushi restaurant industry, I would say they need to work on the tiny details.Recommend for people who are out drinking or for people who don't really care about the rice.P.S. they got keto rolls so anyone looking to skip the rice altogether should be pleased.
Thick cut sushi, impeccably fresh, well run establishment. I hope they are allowed to keep the our door seating.
Honestly this spot is amazing. It doesnt look like it but it is. I would 100% recommend for a fresh sushi roll or even baked. So good
Great small sushi place. Less commercial than Kabuki but more expensive. Worth a try
I went across the street after Octopus irritated me not having a physical menu. But my satisfaction was not met.Disappointing
Overall, the server seemed completely overwhelmed the entire time, the support staff didn't come by to clear a single thing, and the rolls were poorly made. The entire team needs work here. The service was absolutely awful. I think our first server was cut and didn't do a good job handing us off, because I had to flag down the other guy to order another roll and sake. The sake never came so I asked him to make sure it wasn't on the check. The sake was, of course, on the check. It took forever to get anything accomplished here, I think we left about 30-45 minutes after asking for the check. Also, the table wasn't bused once while we were there, even when he dropped the check. The check should NEVER be put on a dirty table. Bussers were bringing in tables and chairs while the restaurant was still half-full, but tables were covered in dirty plates.
Great and fast service. Food is super good. Highly recommended. Ysaac
50% is still failing.Went to Fujiya for the first time with a friend for lunch. Seated immediately. I ordered the 5pc sushi combo with spider roll, she ordered the chicken lunch special with shrimp & tempura add on. My meal came out first in about 10 minutes, and I waited until her meal came out to start. And waited. And waited. Then we see it come out, go to one table, sit at another table only for the person to tell the server he didn't order that...then back into the kitchen. No one checked on us, no one asked why I hadn't touched my meal, no eye contact with us in general. The meal eventually hits our table, and it's cold. Soup is also cold. At this point one has to assume we were re-served the same meal. This is a cardinal sin in a kitchen. Why wasn't it tossed, especially in our current climate? We get the attention of a server, explain the situation, and make the reasonable ask for this to be remade to go. We're at 45 minutes later at this point. We were then asked if we would like the check before the food even arrived.Check shows up, full price for both meals. I'll gladly pay for mine, but this is absurd. Not wanting to make a big deal of it (after the surounding tables were already fully aware and commented on our situation), I go inside to talk to someone. The other meal was removed & I was still waiting for it to come out.Insult to injury here: finally get the meal, we go back to eat at home, open everything up, and the upcharged tempura and shrimp were nowhere to be seen.Abysmal.
