Ian and Abbie are the best baristas in LA. Great food. They make you feel like a friend every time you walk in. Glendale may be the hipper location, but Burbank is the friendliest.
Decent ice coffee and ice chai. Good chocolate chip cookie.Recently went back after almost 6-8 weeks (prior to that I used to go regularly), the cashier machine still has issues. Apple Pay still won't take Mastercard (I don't have issues with other places that take Apple Pay). The smartchip reader doesn't work on the credit card, the magnetic strip doesn't work at the cashier station. I rarely carry cash. Same issue with my back up credit card in my wallet. Please fix your cashier station, you're shooting yourself in the foot when the primary method of taking payment is failing on several fronts. To summarize failed on Apple Pay (Mastercard) + chip and magnetic strip.

Such a nice coffee shop to meet up with a friend, have a casual brunch date or do some work.They have a great variety of food options from avocado toast to brisket hash to breakfast burritos.Coffee was yummy and high quality.There's a parking lot behind the shop as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Overall a great place, looking forward to visiting more often.
I walked out back to grab a table and walked back in to find the barrista and chef just handing me stuff one after the other. It was really that fast. The vegan burrito is amazing. I usually don't expect much from the food at a cafe but wow! Compliments to the chef.
Today I experienced truly appalling customer service and bad attitude form the staff here.. I've never felt that uncomfortable and disrespected by a barista and cash machine guy before.The attitude and condescension was on another level from the bleached-haired young gentleman, who clearly has a vendetta against the world for one reason or another. I was genuinely disappointed and embarrassed for Commissary, who's other locations are great and have always had good customer service. To top it off the long dark-haired gentleman actually running the espresso machine was in a world of his own (where apparently no body else time matters).. the coffee was fine and crafted to a reasonable standard but the amount of time he wastes and unnecessary extra effort he puts in to peacock his whole performance (all while uncomfortably and disrespectfully eye-balling any women who walks thru the door as if he were still living in 2005 and #MeToo never happened) is shameful... I don't understand how these musician douchebags, who clearly think they are above it all, and tend to talk non-stop about their upcoming tours and all the great work they do as "session players" (which I guess doesn't pay very well given that they are manning coffee machines for sh!t-fifty-five an hour on a Sunday morning ?♂️) are even able to maintain these jobs.. How do employers not see right through their arrogance and how detrimental it is to pleasing their customer base.. If I owned a cafe like this I would be disgusted to see this kind of behavior exhibited behind my back. This attitude can't be tolerated when there are literally hundreds of other great places to get your coffee made with a smile (in well under 15 minutes)..

The brisket hash was one of the best things I've eaten in years! The iced mocha was great too! I am so glad I took a chance on this place. There is a reason the line is almost out the door. Be patient!
Great coffee, great menu items. Strong recommend on the Bacon Egg & Cheese with Bacon Jam - one of my favorite items anywhere.
If you’re a Matcha drinker do not waste your time or money here. For the same price you can go to Alfred Coffee and get the real thing. Here they make a sweet syrup with something that maybe used to be matcha? Its in a clear glass pour bottle and fully airated. It’s color is the most dirty brown green, and not even close to the color any grade of descent matcha is. When I realized my order was sweetened and said I would like an unsweetened matcha late I was met with the rudest comments, “most places make it with sugar so you should ask” being the nicest one. They clearly do not stock actual Matcha because he couldn’t make it for me unsweetened. Thankfully the cashier refunded me. 2nd time I’ve gone in there and an employee has been very very rude to me. I won’t be going in again, sad, used to really love this place.
