Relatively new branch serving quality seafood. It probably sprang up within the last 1 to 2 years, taking the place of what used to be a Carl's Jr. in the "revitalized" The Ranch at Hollywood and Verdugo shopping center. If you are in the mood for delicious, healthy seafood instead of greasy fast food, this place is a great choice! Very fast service, but the flavors in their entrees are not rushed at all! Seafood is fresh and cooked perfectly (whether grilled or fried) with choices ranging from swai, shrimp, catfish, atlantic salmon, tilapia, sockeye salmon, branzino sea bass, etc. Then pick your sauce and 2 sides to complete your custom seafood plate. They have a kids menu, lots of available parking, and a nice outdoor dining area. Staff has always been friendly and helpful the times I have gone there. They have even been opening at 10am on Fridays (for Lent perhaps?) Really enjoyable and highly recommended!
I have NEVER had a bad dish at this place. The Fire roasted corn is the best corn I've ever tasted, and the shrimp and fish are grilled perfectly.My favorite is the Shrimp Bowl. The Dynamite Shrimp is very spicy and not for the faint at heart.When I order fish, I always order with the Cajun Sauce.I'm so glad I found this place!
A friend invited me there for lunch. I had the Salmon and Swai plate, and I got to say this was magnificently grilled fish! Some nice grilled zucchini and the BEST cup beans that I've had in quite a while rounded out my sides. Both regular and cajun tartar sauces set off the flavor of the grilled fish perfectly! I would highly recommend this eatery. ??????
The food here has always been consistently good. I usually have the Cajun fish tacos which are my favorite they have the perfect amount of seasoning and the sauce is just spicy enough for my liking and the rest of the fillings compliment each other well. I also had the Parmesan green beans which were pretty good and a good alternative to rice and beans for me. I would have given 5 stars but the service today was a little off and I usually have really good interactions with the employees here. That being said it's not enough for me to stop coming here and give a bad review.
Stay away from this place, first few times I came here the food was delicious, but the last time I visited I ordered the sea bass and it had several small fish bones in it that poked the side of my cheek.At this point every single bite I was checking for bones and it completely ruined the entire meal.
Great food and fair prices. A friendly atmosphere. They wear masks for protection and are very cooperative with the customers. No restraint is perfect and neither are they but if you like good food, a comfortable atmosphere and decent prices, they're worth a try. One more thing, if you have a problem dont be afraid to speak up. They're not afraid to listen.
Overpriced as always. You have to ask for ketchup, napkins...very small portions. ITS FAST FOOD! LUNCH FOR 2 SHOULD NOT COST OVER $15!!!!
Love this place! Clean, nutritious, tasty food. California Fish Grill offers a wide variety of menu items that can be prepared to your liking with choices of sides, sauces, and so much more. Available for dine-in, indoors or patio, or take out. Food is served hot and quick. This is a place for a nice balanced meal and a great alternative to fast food and around the same price.
Our food yesterday was greasy, the soda fountain Pepsi was out. I asked for a soda from a bottle behind the counter. The manager in bad English told me that it cost more and turned as he walked away leaving me and the order taker staring at each other. I will most likely not go back. Poor management and poor food with bad service I recommend you try another place. Bob's big boy is just a few blocks away and they serve good fish and a fantastic burger.
