I really like the yukaejong broth at this resturant..it has very strong non-watered down flavor ( that I have experienced at other restaurants). Unfortunately, they seem to have lighted the amount of beef and kosari, but I suspect they did this as an alternative to raising there prices during these times of rising inflation. Another super good soup they offer is the short rib soup. The broth is out of this world good! When you combine the meat with the kimchi or any of the other side dishes your mouth can't help but smile..
This place is great, but with all korean food, it is a bit pricey. Closer to $20/person with tip + tax.Their menu is small but only because their whole menu is quite yummy. The weird part is that their name says sul lung tang, but to be honest their sul lung tang is just fine. I don't come here for sul lung tang.Their #1 item for most people is their galbi tang, great for 1 if you're super hungry but usually good enough for 2 adults to share. Their donkatsu is just fine also, but for the portion size wise and also sharing it's good. I've never seen the katsu come out burnt or too dark.Regardless of Galbi Tang, look at their menu and just try whatever sounds good, the whole menu is solid korean food.
No need to repeat what others have said. But just my two cents—living in K-town, I don’t think there’s any need to drive all the way down to have this, there are comparable places in LA. If I lived nearby, I’d come here often. Portion are great, tastes great. Would I wait an hour or more for this? Nah. I recommend coming after the rush, like a late lunch at 2/2:30.
My boyfriend and I came here with friends for dinner last Saturday night. We were there around 5:30pm and it was a bit busy but it was less busy after 6pm. We appreciated that it had outdoor dining. The heat lamps were available (very warm). We ordered Galbi Tang (Korean beef short rib soup with green onions, #2 on the menu) and ox bone soup {beef soup with vermicelli & mixed meat (brisket, drop flank, & intestine), #1 on the menu}. Both dishes came with a bowl of steamed rice at this restaurant. Both soups were delicious with a good amount of meats. The meats were also tender and flavorful. The broth of ox bone soup was lighter. Their kimchi was also very fresh and delicious. The banchan (side dishes) were refilled without us having to ask for it first.
The kimchi here is sooo good. The yukgaejang is our favorite, but it took a really long time to get our food. Even if the restaurant isn’t busy, they do a lot of to go orders.
This is definitely an authentic Korean restaurant because the majority of the guests are Koreans. So if you want authentic Korean food in this area, this is it. Their lunch menu doesn't offer a lot of choices, which is good and bad. It is good if you have hard time picking the dishes you like, and it is bad because you may not find what you want to order. Based on the menu choices and the portion they serve, their food is not cheap. If you come during the busy hours, you may want to park on the street as their parking lot may not be able to accommodate all the patrons there.
Doesn't work look like much and parking is tight.Staff is friendly but not much English is spoken. Amazingly the communication happens and the orders are placed and served correctly.Food us good and hot.The menu is in English with pictures which helps tremendously. Will be back again.
Good spot to eat Korean food. Their Galbi Tang is very good. Come early as this place gets packed. They have a few tables outside as well.
One of my favorite Korean restaurants for their Galbi Tang (Korean short rib soup)! I've tried a few places in Korea Town in LA, but this one still tops it for me particularly just for this dish only. My sister enjoys the dumpling soup and the bibimbap is just alright. I'd recommend this place for Galbi Tang is you're hungover, cold weather comfort, or just craving some good soup. Will add photos next time I go.
We ordered Bibimbap & Galbi Tang, both came out delicious. Not a fan of the sides though, they are too sour & not many options. Price is in the high side. For these 2 order came out to $39. Will we come back? this isn't our first time here, so the answer is Yes for sure.
