We really wanted to enjoy the place but slow, spotty service and slightly disappointing food did not help. We arrived for happy hour so the menu was at a reduced price, however, the portions were extremely small. Sashimi sampler of 4 pieces each the size of a tiny pinky sized sliver for $ 12.-; I know its Laguna Beach, but really... The garlic edamame was soaked in oil and had more garlic than edamame when the server realized there was something wrong with them he did not offer to replace them or take them off th bill. All in all, not an exciting experience.

My husband and I had dinner at Okura. Service was friendly and accommodating. (We were initially seated near an open window to watch the sunset but needed to move our table due to unexpected windy weather.) We were unfortunately served a really BAD glass of house wine; upon notifying our server, we were quickly brought a new glass of wine. The food was good but didn’t stand out compared to other sushi restaurants.

We had dinner here to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Making reservation was a breeze, albeit it was a weekday. They treated us really well, the staff was very attentive, and the food and drinks were amazing!! The filet mignon robata and lychee martini were to die for.

Exceptional service, incredible Hamachi Kama perfectly prepared, and great wine. This is our second visit, we will come again. Thank you Sean and Katrina for your attention in every detail to our dinner.

We merely had to cross the street from our hotel to eat our fill of very good sushi. The wait staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was very thoughtful.

Came here on a Wednesday night with business colleagues at about 7:30 and sat at a high table for 6. Our server was extremely nice and always at the table at the right time, her name was Lena. We ordered appetizers to start and 4 sushi rolls to share. My favorite sushi roll was the Hawaiian and the Tiger. All the sushi was very fresh and delicious and the prices quite reasonable given the high quality of the food and the excellent service. I recommend Okura for sushi.

Cucumber salad was awful. How do you ruin a great cucumber ? They did so limp it must have been sitting in fridge for days. Service slow too. The roll was okay.

I shared the nigiri platter and had the Madonna sushi which was superb. Service was perfect, atmosphere a bit dead for a Friday night but the food really was delicious.

I did not know what we expected. It was fine, nothing special. I say the restaurant was an americanized Japanese restaurant. So if you expect authentic Japanese cuisine, I do not recommend this restaurant.

We had wanted to like this place. It was disappointing both in terms of food and especially the service. The only upside was that we were here for happy hour so the dishes were at a reduced price. After tasting the food, we decided not to stay for dinner and went somewhere else. The sushi rice was overcooked and too mushy. We were not sure whether the fish was not kept at the right temperature or that it sat too long in a hot kitchen before being brought out. Either way, it was not served at the correct temperature. Unfortunately this place is neither recommended nor will we be back.
