Nice and new restaurant to the village. I had the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and the wife had the Chicken Cacciatore. Perfect dinner size portions. Great waiter and bus staff. Owner was in and greeting all the patrons, locals and visitors alike.
The staff here was super nice, and the service was speedy. Good ambiance. However I need to talk about the gluten free meatballs. I had the gluten free penne with the gluten free Turkey and pork meatballs. Never have I ever experienced a meatball such as this. She was dense let me tell you. Not in the good way.
Finally, sophisticated food in Big Bear! I've visited three times since their opening in late 2021 and have always had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is casual yet upscale, you can feel the passion the owners have for the restaurant, and each dish not only tastes incredible but is also a decent portion. The cocktails, wine and desserts are rave-worthy as well! When my husband and I celebrated his birthday here with friends, La Pergola of course made it special. I highly recommend if you're looking for better dining in Big Bear; it's a must every time I'm in town.
Oh my what a great dining experience we had. Whoever manages this staff is making an impression! Thank you goes out to Lauren and our server Syan. (I know messed up the spelling of our outstanding server.)The Bruschetta Burata, Calamari, Osso Bucco, and Lasagna was very delicious. Try the Tiramisu Martini.!La Pérgola Trattoria will be a success!Thank you again. We'll be back!
I'm updating my previous review after multiple visits.1. You need to train your staff. Be courteous!a.) You shouldn't act surprised when people show up to eat. Don't makethem feel like a burden for doing so. Your hostess is incredibly RUDE!!2. Your food is not $30 a plate good. It's good, but way overpriced. The calamari that was served was way overcooked to the point of almost unrecognizable and they came out in two different colors. One looked like an onion ring and the others were typical light colored.3. We had to ask multiple times where our drink orders were. Then when they came, they weren't correct. People who order Old Fashioned with particular brands of whiskey know the difference.4. On our last visit, the server we had, told us she had never been trained on how to open a wine bottle by herself....and we've seen her here before! Wow! God love her...she tried her best and was actually super sweet and pleasant. No help from the hostess who basically walked around barking at people. If you want to just be some tourist trap place charging way too much due to lack of places to go...bravo! You've accomplished it. But please pull it together. This last visit it was blowing snow outside and your hostess said to us, "please wait outside or come back in 10 minutes." There were multiple open tables. We weren't causing a blockage.UPDATE AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: This has nothing to do with COVID. Covid affected us all. We too lost close personal friends and family. When restaurants closed, we still continued to support them and their staff by ordering take out. We tipped generously because we could, and it was the right thing to do. When they reopened, we came running back excited to dine in. Again we tipped generously to support them. You mention this being a Covid problem as to why your restaurant is sub-par. Why then are your surrounding restaurants not experiencing the same problem? If they are, they sure haven't shown it to me! They don't make us feel unwelcome! I get that there is a shortage of staff because people aren't rushing back to work in service industry jobs. That has nothing to do with how they're trained. I urge you to read your YELP reviews and you'll see a resounding common theme. LACK OF FRIENDLY SERVICE. By you telling me to just eat at home because I'm "special" just makes me not want to support your restaurant. My goal wasn't to shut you down. Quite the contrary. We need great places to eat in Big Bear. It was meant as constructive criticism that I had hoped you'd head. Instead you just lash out. That's a shame.
Sausage and peppers was excellent with the bread it is a must try. The meatballs and spaghetti was also very pleasant just needs a little more sauce to make it better. Coffee could be better due to my experience in coffee but over all love the idea of this place
This place is absolutely adorable! Recently remodeled with new ownership! You must try this place when in Big Bear! Out waitress was very attentive. She was sweet and accommodating. The decor is so lovely. Very calming place. The food is delicious! Please try the carrot cake- it's made in house! 5 stars for sure. Will definitely be back soon!
Best pizza on the mountain. The carrot cake is freshly made, OMG it's so good. If anything at least try the carrot cake!
The atmosphere is excellent, pleasant, and service is top notched. Best if all the food is excellent. Excellent chef Robert. We really needed an Italian restaurant like this one.
Horrible service, overpriced food. Got kicked out from our table because we ordered Coffee and dessert and Dinner time started. Basically, we were told to order dinner or leave the spot for someone else. We have just ordered and couldn't even finish our drinks and tiramisu. When we first ordered we were never told our time was limited. They never suggested to relocate us inside or find another solution. Extremely rude host who told us not to come back when I got upset with the treatment. Do not go there and you can scrap Dave's whiskey as well. Same ignorant owner. And by the way , paninis are supposed to be toasted.
