The glory days of Spago have long-since passed. The food, overall, is not inspiring, and even the signature dishes seem to be tired. The service is very cold - no sense of warmth, interest or caring. It is not worth the money.
Have to say that this spot was definitely outstanding and one of the best that I have been to in Beverly Hills. From the phenomenal service to the spectacular food, this spot checks all the boxes. The interior of the restaurant appears to still be used for large groups and events while the outdoor area (built during the pandemic) is used as the standard dining room. I did not find it an issue whatsoever and kind of preferred it. In terms of food, I would highly recommend the Pizza with House Cured Smoked Scottish Salmon and the Austrian Veal Weinerschnitzel. The cocktails are also equally stunning as they are delicious. We were also graced with the opportunity to meet Wolfgang Puck as he was making his way throughout the dining room; it was truly a remarkable experience. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.
Absolutely wonderful meals my husband and I had this evening. Desserts were very pretty and tasted so delicious. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. One of the best parts of the evening at SpagoBH, was sitting next to an awesome, very famous actor all evening and getting a chance to speak with him a bit before the close of the night. Cheers
It was very disappointed. The food and prices are a joke. Cannot believe there are still people going to this restaurant
Absolutely disappointed. An evening to forget about. And fast. Location and setting was decent, for Beverly Hills in Covid times, I guess. Air-conditioned tent, some plants, some room dividers, round tables etc. Service was non existent, actually pathetic. Barely 10% of service staff have an idea of working in a restaurant, half of that in a fine dining restaurant. The rest has no clue whatsoever, what and when to do which leads to overwhelmed & stressed experienced staff which the guests desperately desires but they rarely reach the tables. Numerous surrounding tables complained about service the whole evening. Not an experience you wish to encounter for a nice dinner night. Any motivated high schooler would have done a better job that night at an Applebees than the majority of the crew present. Dishes piled up from bread box service, to starters and then main meals, never removed, unless asked directly by guests several times before desert would have even been ordered otherwise there would have not been any room left on the table... Somelier walked like a peacock thru the whole tent showing off wine to others (why?), presented wine without comments and explanations to male guest (wife actually ordered wine), uncorked it, let the male guest try it and after guest approval unevenly poured it into two glasses, kept cork for himself, dropped loudly bottle without words in bottle holder further away from table. Never to be seen again. Lovely. Of course no one of the floor staff refilled empty wine glasses and or water afterwards. Guests have to pour themselves. Huzzah. Food, actually the main reason why to come at all, was at best just meh. The Spicy Big Eye Tuna Tartare Cones were already soaked thru when they arrived. Tuna Tartare tasted way too watery and fishy at the same time. The best thing of the Austrian Veal Wienerschnitzel was not the Schnitzel itself which separated completely from the panade (absolute no go) and had no flavor, or the undercooked fingerling potatoes but the delicious cucumber salad. Go figure. The Grilled New York Steak, an USDA Prime, 8 oz, Arkansas City, Kansas was prepared as expected. At last. We never ordered desert, famous Apfelstrudel was unfortunately not on the menu anymore and so we left. Must have been a bad day at the Spago or we came 20 years too late.... But there is still Wolfgang Puck to go at the airport or the famous canned pea soup in the supermarket isle.....
With the Master on site, this evening was again very memorable! Great food and wine experience in every aspect. You just need to be prepared to dine in a tent … very nice tent though. But a little different to a restaurant experience … although safer in terms of social distancing. And our server was rather inexperienced (could not explain the dishes on the menu despite that they are very tasty) and a little sloppy. But none of this could spoil a great day dinner and food experience!
Amazing food and service! We had a great time celebrating our wedding anniversary at Spago. Pricey but one of our best food experiences.
Food was amazing,I had anolini, delicious, the location though could be more trimmed,I dined in the covered patio and the floor was not squeaky clean as one would expect at this niveau and the furniture is old and not particularly nice.Overall a good experience though
So disappointing! Very expensive food mediocre…..took a guest and neither of us had a meal living up to the hype. Service was spotty & inadequate. Huge waste of money. Nice atmosphere at night. Lots of other places nearby in same price range worth the money. Will never go back.
It’s definitely a must eat restaurant when you visit Rodeo Drive or Beverly Hills. We reserved a table on OpenTable. The foods had a very rich and flavorful taste that none of the dish tasted boring. We ordered a smoked salmon pizza, pasta beef cheek stew, spicy big eye tuna tartare cones, and crispy scale Black Sea bass. They gave a lot of salmons on the top of pizza and put slices of red onions and cream cheese spread underneath. The sauce of beef stew pasta was rich and savory. The tuna tartare cones were really impressive that they put not only tuna but also fish roe, scallion, and sesame too. The sea bass had a crispy skin, and the fish meat was fresh and sweet.Overall, the service was really excellent. The the foods were really impressive!! I would definitely recommend it
