Love the small bar behind Sugarfish. Having only 10 diners at a time makes it feel very intimate. The service was outstanding, describing all of the dishes and how best to eat them. Sake and water were constantly refilled. Completely stuffed around course 18 or so, but every dish was delicious and ate everything served. Love having lobster at the beach, but the New Zealand lobster was some of the sweetest I've ever had.
The meal was absolutely outstanding. The reservation system is a nightmare.I tried to contact this restaurant for 3 days to get some help changing my reservation, since they don't allow you to change the reservation on Tock, their reservation platform. I left multiple messages, I called during their specified call hours, and I emailed. It took reaching out to Tock to get a response.Other than the very difficult reservation system, the meal was wonderful. Chef Fujita's menu was incredible, and the atmosphere was lovely. I had, what I think was, the best oyster of my life. Definitely worth going!
Oh wow, How do I convey in words What a culinary treat trying omakase by the world renowned chef Fuji is to the sensory experience of taste smell and sights. The omakase menu is unique and curated daily by Chef, with the days freshest catch shipped direct from Japan, with the highest quality and attention to taste and flavors. For those on the accustomed to Omakase, it's not cheap. But it's limited to only 20 diners every evening (7:30 and 8:30 reservations), needless to say, make sure to book reservations several months in advance of your special days you wish to attend. 5 EMPHATIC STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!!
很认真的厨师,全程参与每一位客人的料理,还指导自己的两位徒弟,严肃认真!但是又很可爱的和每一组客人拍照!
The sushi was among the best I've had. Very interesting, flavorful, and not as underwhelmingly subtle as some other top drawer sushi joints. Likewise, the service was excellent - informative but unobtrusive. Fantastic. My only complaint was that one of the guests (apparently a regular) - a 30 year old loud mouth self important "producer" and "director" - kept trying to engage the other innocent diners to hear about his fabulous birthday parties, invite us out for drinks afterword, etc. He also kelp mentioning how the chef's mentor would never have tolerated his behavior. I wish the chef's mentor was there to ask him to shut up or leave. There are only 10 people per service crammed in at a small bar. One obnoxious person can ruin the experience.
Highly Recommend.Chef Fuji is simply the best there is. As someone who has been able to enjoy the experience at Nozawa multiple times, I can easily say it is consistently the best omakase you can get. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is perfect for any occasion. I've dined here for corporate events, anniversaries, and even solo. Needless to say, this is my favorite restaurant. If you're reading this then book it.... if you can find a reservation.
This review is merely for the customer service, not for the food itself.I made a reservation to dine in this restaurant about 2 months ahead of time knowing that this is a hard-to-book restaurant as they were recentlyawarded with 1 Michelin Star. I was excited as I was able to hold a spot to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday in December 2021.To be honest, the whole Omakase experience was great and filled with quality and fresh ingredients. We enjoyed it. After the dinner, we paid our bill with a credit card as we ordered a bottle of sake. The Omakase dinner was paid upfront when made the reservation. The next day when I was about to use the same credit card, I noticed that another guest's card was being returned to me instead. I was not awarethat the card being returned to me was not mine until then. I usually just take my credit card and slide back to my wallet when the host returned to me. Plus, I then notice the transaction being charged was incorrect too. In short, the host has charged my card with a wrong amount and also mixed up my credit card. I know should be more cautious but who would expect this to happened in a 1 Michelin Star restaurant..I immediately texted the host about the issue and she did response to me hours later saying she would sort things out. As a compensation, they agreed to credit us the sake and will reverse the charges. In the process, we kept on going backand forth, I will need to keep following up with them myself, if not they will not initiate to contact me.Our conversation started on 12/28/2021 and up till this point, I did not receive the credit on my cc still. Today I have decided to call the bank to dispute the charges as i do not want to keep waiting and expect anything to be done from their end anymore.l am just disappointed and frustrated that this issue is not taken care of as promised. The host promised me that this would be prioritized but idont see how this is prioritized as the issue is still not solved after a month time.. I am not saying that I do not recommend my friends to come here, but I would also let them know my experience here so that they could decide themselves. To me, no matter how top notch your dishes are but if your service is not up to par, I don't think this is a place I would want to visit again.Again, this review is for the service, not the food itself.
Bad customer service
Wonderful place, prime location. Very good food and highly professional staff. Nice guests. Pleasure to be
I think most people end up leaving their review at sugarfish but the tiny 12 seat Nazawa sushi bar in the back is something incredibly special!!We had a superb omakase tasting. For sure some of the very best you can get in the United States!!!! Memorable!
