DO NOT EAT HERE! The food was HORRIBLE! It was worse than that but what word could I use to describe it. I placed an online order that was not ready when I arrived. I waited another 45mins for cold food and the wrong order! I asked for a refund and was told I had to do it through the platform where I ordered. The platform I ordered from was their actual webpage but the young high guy at the front wasn’t understanding that. I don’t want to give it any stars because the food and customer service was bad! I’m upset i wasted my time and money ordering from this garbage box! There is also no order for a line. Everyone was just clustered in front of the pick up window like hawks. There was no separate line for door dash/ online orders and ppl who ordered there at the restaurant. One poor guy kept telling him that was his chicken sandwich he ordered but they were not listening all for them to burn his sandwich. I felt bad for him and I felt bad for myself for ordering this trash. My food was so cold the cheese wasn’t melted on the burger. I didn’t have the cherry peppers or onions I ordered and my bun was cold and cardboard like. Just save your time and money and fine elsewhere because this was a disaster. Who can I call? Kitchen nightmare? Cuz they need chef Ramsey! Didn’t take pics of the garbage food but this is how everyone was standing at the window.
Food was prepared in a timely matter, they offer various choices including options for vegans/vegetarians. Prices are at a great price while the food is tasty and leaves you wanting more. They also provide a soda machine with different syrups to add into your beverage. The restaurant has a relax vibe with choices to either sit inside or outside. The beyond burger was so well seasoned, you'd think it was meat! My only pet peeve was the malts didn't taste as advertised.
By far one of the best burgers I’ve had in the bay. The prices are astonishingly economical and the food truly didn’t disappoint. I paid $11 for a huge double cheeseburger and a neapolitan shake. The place has a true old school and rustic vibe that is often times badly replicated nowadays lol. What a gem that I just so happened to drive past while running an errand in Berkeley, I’ll definitely be back!
My order was wrong tonight and it has happened before I think they probably have a habit of getting peoples orders wrong. I wonder how many people have wrong orders? I asked the staff at the pickup window to check my order before I left and I’m glad I did because it was made incorrectly again. The staff at the pickup window was rude and not professional or too busy to address the issues he left my food on the counter when my order wasn’t complete and then had an attitude the whole time as if it was my fault for them making the hamburger incorrectly. When he gave me my hamburger and as I was leaving I checked and my order was still wrong so I had to go back and he still had an even bigger attitude. He is the wrong person to be at the pickup window. I think they should pay attention to the orders and this has happened before their process needs improvement. I’m glad they are reopened now only if they can make my orders right. I was completely unsatisfied and felt like my order should have been for free. It was beyond unacceptable.
Delicious! The caramelized onions and the juicy patty were a perfect combo! They were out of fries so I wasn’t able to try them. The pricing was good and the portions were average. My partner finished his burger fast, so I could tell he liked it as well.
Absolutely delicious as always. I have been coming here ever since I was 4 years old -- and the burgers never have me disappointed!!
It's been there since 1951 and a longtime Cal (UC Berkeley) favorite. Prices are decent and the burgers and fries are great. Inside and outside seating.
Prices are great and burgers taste great!1 might not fill you up so you might want to buy 2+ or get fries and milkshake with it.My only complaint is they don't put enough condiments inside and you have to ask for more.Definitely will come back and hope to try a different sandwich!
this was a high school hangout over 50 years ago and it hasn't changed. Food is good, comfortable place.
Decent burger, for the price. Good unsweetened iced tea. Bathroom needs some maintenance. (Seems somewhat open to public.)
