Went to the old location several years ago and was very impressed. They are still rocking it at the new location across the street! The Rueben isn’t too close to a “regular” one, but the dozens of vegan Ruebens I’ve had haven’t (except one) wasn’t anywhere near this one, nor was as standalone as good as this one is—loved it regardless. I could eat here ever day!
So effing good!This place has amazing sandwiches (not great for a vegan place, straight up cravable, moth watering sandwiches). Probably the best sandwiches I've ever had (and I'm a foodie!). The portions are very generous, as is the texture and bold flavors!They have a beautiful back patio with plenty of outdoor seating surrounded by roses. Pictured here is the Jalapeño business, I also loved their buffalo chicken sandwich. Their vegan bacon actually tastes like bacon!When those meat cravings strike, this place definitely hit the spot.Must try! Best of Berkeley vegan restaurants
* JALAPEÑO BUSINESS ?? - phenomenal, so meaty and well-seasoned* Mozzarella sticks - maybe the best vegan ones I've ad to date, very firm outer crust, but the cheese inside naturally was missing that chew and stretch that is so hard to replicate. But still tasty. A smaller portion would have been nicer. Once we got the idea we didn't feel we had to finish, so half got tossed.Fully vegan place! Lots on the menu still to try.
Really great restaurant with amazing vegan food! The line was long for brunch on a Sunday and they came out and gave us all cookies! The line wasn’t even that bad for them to do that. Great Staff, and great food! Highly recommend whether you’re vegan or not!
The best dinning experience I've had in this city. Honestly didn't think I could make the transition to a vegan diet full time until coming here. Highly recommend!
Finally tried it after hearing about this spot from my vegan friends for some time now and it did not disappoint! They moved right across to just an awesome location with a beautiful communal backyard. Buffalo chicken sandwich is a MUST try, one of the best vegan patties! We also got the lemon chicken grinder which was like gyro style meat in a ciabatta and that was also pretty good. Overall an amazing vegan experience, v east bay vibes ~~~
Excellent experience all around. We had two sandwiches that were both excellent. We also had a banana pancake. I didn't think anyone could do a pancake in a way that would be novel and good but it was great. Love the pick up options for snacks and take and bake items. The staff was also very friendly. The drip coffee was the only thing that wasn't excellent. Overall, great experience!
This has to be the worst looking "sandwich" put out by a restaurant in the history of humankind. Is it really acceptable to send out this garbage?? No one can even tell what it is - including me! It tastes like pure, sour vinegar. Absolutely horrible. This is why I stopped frequenting The Butchery’s Son several years ago. The sandwiches are so bad. SO BAD. RELLY REALLY BAD. Few gluten free options as it is but to present a customer with THIS? It really is atrocious and unacceptable. Have some pride!
Driving up the coast this was the PERFECT vegan-friendly lunch stop. The service was fast & friendly, the space was clean (with a beautiful patio out back), and the food was phenomenal. The order of garlic fries would have been enough for four people and the B.L.A.T. was a superb blend of fresh ingredients. If you're in the area and interested in a vegan-friendly meal, this is a must-visit!
