Wowza! I'm definitely not a vegan, but I sure could be if all the food was this delicious! Max provided wonderful service, including recommendations. My favorite for today was the half moon. The mango was so refreshing. Love it here & will be back.
I'm Japanese american, not vegan, and skeptical. This is incredible, elevated, theatrical yet traditional sushi. It is a new vegan sushi and ramen addition to the already crowded Berkeley food scene. The place is small but well decorated. The service was very quick. We ordered two sushi plates , a grilled shishito appetizer and a spicy garlic ramen. The sushis were crisp and nicely done. The plating was appealing. We had a sushi called Barbers which was an arrangement of 5 sushis with one of them an extra spicy one that is hidden and whoever gets it can cool it of with a sweet sake in the middle. It was fun eating that to see who gets the hot sushi. I had the luck of having that, it was really hot and the sake was a good cooler. The ramen was ok. The base was good , but the ramen was clumpy with major uncooked clumps. Except for that the food was good and gets 4 stars.
Beautiful, inventive, and totally reasonably priced dishes in a chill atmosphere. Super friendly staff as well. Everything we had was delicious - the agedashi tofu and sunset roll are unmissable! I will be back to try some more.
Fantastic ramen: the broth was rich and flavorful and the noodles were perfect. The sashimi was also beautiful and unique.
So thrilled to find a place like this!!! So delicious sushi. They were so kind and welcoming. The host gave us some suggestions for what to eat and the waitress even made an origami figure for our baby.
Loved each roll we had today. Tried various specialty roles and each one was unique. Tasty! Definitely bringing friends and family to this spot. It fills up quick! Reservations are a must.
Our first time eating here... WOW! The presentation and taste are enough to bring you back to try items that the people sitting next to you ordered and enjoyed!We got there a few minutes after they opened and we're already halfway filled up.It is pretty small (I would estimate 24 or so?) and reservations are recommended. We sat at the sushi bar counter.I don't think that they serve any beverages other than water and tea? Which may be a good idea, serve and eat the food, get the check and next customer!Within a half hour there was a line out the door.If you are driving there, allow time for finding parking.
This is THE BEST sushi ever!!! I’m not vegan and I’d much rather have this over regular sushi!!! The ambiance is great and the service is second to none! I can’t recommend it highly enough!!!
Went there for a friend's birthday. The service was incredible, warm and welcoming, accommodating, we all felt well taken care of. The food was to die for. The flavors were scintillating. They were plated artistically. The chefs even sent out fruit "boat" for dessert for her! I will gladly come back, with friends.
