Stopped in Souvenir for a cup of coffee while looking at local real estate. Shop was quite busy around 11a on a Saturday. Not Starbucks at 6a on a weekday busy - but a line at a small local coffee joint at 11a on a Saturday seems unique - and oddly nice to see. Selection was very sufficient - as a roaster/reseller - not extraordinary. Same with our three different coffee drinks. I was not disappointed. Not blown away. This one visit did not earn this sucessful Bay Area chain a spot on my top ten favorite "small town" coffee joints. I imagine I'll have to visit again...
Perfect snug coffee shop with some seating at the bar and a cute patio in the back. Their coffee is great, so are their pastries. They've got plenty of options, but you can't go wrong with an oat latte.
Coffee is good atmosphere is good as well but not the workers. Most of them are unfriendly and bit snobby except one based on 10+ times visit. There is one on College Ave and Derby now. The worker there are unfriendly as well. Pastries are soso.
Cute patio at the back. Laptops are not allowed on some tables
Awful coffee - avoid! There are amazing spots within a mile (go to those!)
Friendly and cheerful staff, excellent drinks and breakfast/lunch sandwiches. Great indoor and outdoor ambience.
The place is cute to have a drink and chat, however, I do not recommend to anyone who is attempting to do work over a laptop or device that requires charge. The wifi is unstable (currently using my hotspot to write this review lol) and there are no power outlets. It seems like they do have power outlets but they cut access to it for the public by taping over it (why? ... I do not know)
A cute and narrow coffee shop serving up good brew, tasty sandwiches and a yummy selection of sweet and savoury pastries. Free wifi, individual tables and outlets.Situated next to an old school butcher and grocery store. A few doors down from shops specialized in comics, upholstery, fantasy and science fiction, Judaica. This coffee shop is on one of the most unique blocks in the East Bay.The Souvenir Special was fantastic (albeit a bit on the pricey side): a light-on-salt pastrami served on warm pretzel bun with melted Swiss cheese, cabbage greens and jalapeño sauce — delish.
I have lived down the street for 5 years and always pass this little place as some little shop. I don't really need to visit. But I was convinced to stop in and as it would turn out, they have the best mocha I've ever tasted in my life. It was sweet with deliciousness unparalleled by any coffee place in the Bay area thus far. They also had lots of food items and a menu posted at the door which I love and don't understand why more restaurants don't do that. I got the delicious avocado toast with some sort of beet spread and I couldn't believe how good it was. My boyfriend got the grilled cheese. He couldn't believe how good it was. I'm glad we went into this shop. I couldn't believe how good it was. Lol. The staff is pretty friendly and they have a large patio in the back. Surprise surprise.
Souvenir Coffee is the real deal, they are very passionate about coffee and it shows up in every cup. They love talking about coffee too, if time allows. Be sure to ask all of your questions and take some time to try some of their de-lish snacks!
