I’m updating a previous review. I have been coming here for over a decade and seen it through multiple owners. My family and I ate here almost once a week, so when the new owners came in a few months ago, we still went ahead with our weekly order. Maybe it was due to the transition, but the food was not good at all, so I waited a bit and tried again with the same outcome. I wrote a negative review about it and got a friendly response from the new owners appreciating my feedback and informing me that they were working daily to improve the quality of food and produce the best possible sushi. After a few more months, we gave it another shot and it was really good and has been ever since! We’ve returned to our weekly sushi routine and I’m happy and grateful that the owners actually listen to people’s feedback and we have our weekly sushi routine back. Highly recommend
The BEST quality sushi I've had in years. This is our new favorite sushi place and we will gladly drive 30 minutes out of our way to come here again. Came here on a whim and I cannot emphasize enough just how glad we are to have done so.Owners are kind and helpful. Highly highly recommend.
Such a fantastic Sushi spot! Super delicious food, great service, and reasonable prices. Shattuck roll, sake toro, and seafood salad were all soooo yummy and all the ingredients seemed very fresh. I think this might be my new favorite spot in Berkeley for sushi. I will definitely be coming back! :)
My favourite Sushi in North Berkeley. Order bental for lunch and dinner quite often. Very good deal and fresh sashimi!
I REALLY hope the new ownership gets it together! I had been coming here for years about once a week under the previous owners. I’ve tried it twice under the new management and the sushi is almost inedible. It tastes like one big mushy glob of rice with indistinguishable flavors and textures. Extremely disappointing! I’m hoping that these are just growing pains and that the new owners are able to correct this and find their grove, because this spot used to be fantastic!

I love this venue a lot. theres a great atmosphere. The kitcen is tasty. the service is powerful and the crew is trained. The pay is honest. I definitely recommend.
I've tried several Japanese restaurants in Berkeley and this is the first one that I thought had the right mix of quality at an affordable price point. The sushi is good and affordable. The service is good: The food was ready when promised and the staff was gracious and friendly to me and my family. I'm looking forward to ordering take-out from them again.
