Stopped in for a cup of coffee and the staff was wonderful.
During my lunch break with 30 minutes left. I went to Lox Stop & Bagel, I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese, tomatoes, and cucumber. They said they didn’t have plain bagels so I ordered a sesame bagel instead. My friends and I waited for 25 minutes for our bagels to be prepared, mind you I only had 5 minutes to get back to my math class at this point, then my number was called and the person said, “Sorry we don’t have the ingredients to make your bagel.” I was very angry that, 1. I was going to be late, and 2. I was not going to have a bagel. They said “do you want us to make you a different bagel, we have raisin” I replied, “I don’t have time” They gave me my money back at my request and I bought a bag of chips and was marked tardy to my 4th period class. Overall extremely disappointed and I will never return.
When I lived in Berkeley I'd go here every morning on my walk to the BART. It's been years now since I last went but I still think about how much I miss this place daily.
A lovely business run with care and good taste by it's friendly and talented owners. Feels like home.
I came here pretty much every day of my senior year at Berkeley High. I would literally run here during passing period to get an egg sausage and cheese English muffin sando or a sausage breakfast burrito. With the Cholula hot sauce packets they have...mmm. Super tasty and inexpensive (better hot savory breakfast options than K's around the block). Superb Rally Day fuel.
Decent food, good service, quick in and out...
Been going to this place for over ten years I used to work next door at the YMCA and this was all of our go to for breakfast and lunch

Best Bagel in Berkeley
This place is STILL how I remember it back from my BHS days. Food still tastes the same, same good quality!. And just as I was coming in from my trip from Sacramento, they just finished cleaning the restrooms, which is always a good sign. This is my first stop "go-to" whenever I touchdown back in the bay.... And this is over a 10yr period!
