I don't love writing negative reviews, but this place was really disappointing. I got the katsu chicken bowl and it was inedible. The chicken was soggy and overcooked, the inside was gray and tough. Ontop was what I think was supposed to be fried egg? but the egg white was raw and no yolk. It came on a bed of rice that was also overcooked and mushy and wayyyy too salty. It tasted like microwaved leftovers that had been sitting in my fridge for a week. Paid $19 for it, but they should have paid me for the emotional damage.Nice service and clean facilities though!
Bland food, so much so that it feels a little overpriced because of itPortions are a little smallChicken tends to be over cooked and foods that you’d expect to be crispy (ex: katsudon) is rendered soggySauces tend to be watery and flavorlessI gave it a star because the place and the menu look nice at least
Big portions. Reasonably priced. Good drink and appetizer selection too. Friendly and quick service. Bus your own dishes. Pork was a little on the thicker and drier side but still hit the spot and was delicious. Wash it down with a kirin and I'm content.
I’ve never written a review but this is pretty much a breaking point. In the end we didn’t end up eating there. Instead a recommend go to Toss noodles near by or Muracci’s on Telegraph. This past Monday my family walked in and we felt very uncomfortable the staff immediately started and followed my family around with their gaze. We got close to the counter and it was like they didn’t want to serve us and didn’t even bother to talk to us. It really just felt like we were being racially profiled. After standing there for a bit with no communication from the staff we left and everyone kept staring at us as we walked out. My family is really Mexican looking and it just felt like they didn’t want us in there.
Overall, filling and decent donburi type of food, though perhaps not good enough to justify the price.FOOD:Katsudon (4.5 out of 5): The tonkatsu was juicy and encased in an omelette with grilled onions and what I assume to be a light soy and sesame sauce, served over rice. Quite filling, and really good with the light sauce.Pork belly (4.5 out of 5): Really rich and fatty pork belly with a really good soy glaze. Highly recommend if you like pork belly!Hamachi Kama (3 out of 5): Usually hamachi kama is the prized specialty at any Japanese restaurant that serves it. Here it was a bit dry and not special.Mixed Tempura (4 out of 5): Good and standard tempura. Exactly what you would expect. Assortment of Shrimp, sweet potato, onion rings, etc.
The Japanese curry bowl was honestly heaven on earth. Do yourself a favor and swap the rice for udon (extra $1 but SO worth it). My waistline is upset but my heart is happy. 10/10, no notes.

I had to wait a few days before I wrote a review about my dinner here with friends. I was here celebrating a coworker’s birthday. I only enjoyed one of the three entrees I ordered. I ordered chicken gyoza, Karaage( fried chicken), and a crab meat salad. I only enjoyed the salad. The gyoza were unappetizing and burnt. The fried chicken was dry and did not resemble the photo on the menu board. I also had a lot of fried skin in my order and no meat. We were sharing food and I found the tempura was soggy and boring. I will not be returning.
Thinking about going here? Do it. You won't regret it. We ordered the katsu don, braised pork belly, and tempura. The pork belly was phenomenal. I'm still savoring the sauce. The tempura was light and you could really taste the flavors of the vegetables. There was also an insane amount of it. Finally the katsu don was everything I wanted. The breading was light and the flavors delicious. It was also enough for two meals. I will be eating here often in the future.
Great curry katsu, very reasonable prices as well.
