Great rolls and sushi

One of the top Japanese spots in the East Bay, I vainly refused to eat here for years because they had a wire hanging across the K of their sign and I figured if they didn't have the wherewithal to correct that how could they possibly provide me with delicious sushi. Fast forward years later, they remove the wire I ate there, and it was wonderful. Super Fresh sushi and sashimi, and my favorite, something I did not even know existed, tofu custard. A little bit on the pricey side, but a great place to visit when you want to take somebody out for a special date

Fabulous broth on Sukiaki and Nabeyaki Udon, delicious seafood pot stickers. Most importantly: great service! The owner is so chic, gracious and beautiful! All waiters were so kind and fun! We will be back!

A++ experience. Sat at the sashimi bar and just let the chef do his magic. Everything is so fresh and delicious!

Always excellent sushi, even through the pandemic. This evening with Conrad as chef caring for us we had the tenderest slices of fish and intricate accompaniments that made the fish sing, or zing!

Good spot for sushi, it gets very hectic and there's little space when it gets busy so id say call in advance. I'm so happy they had natto because most restaurants don't! I liked all my dishes so not much to say except props to the chef. We were waiting almost an hour after an order mishap but they were kind enough to not charge us for one of the rolls. I'd recommend this place for parties since I saw some birthday celebrations going on and they sing along with you. May or may not come back, probably with more people since it's hard to get a table for one or two.

Ate here for the first time today, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Three of us say at the bar for lunch. First off they have the Japanese green tea that is so good. Great gyoza that was crispy and tasty. The maguro was great quality and the rolls were tight and good. The seafood yaki udon was really good with not too many onions and plenty of the good stuff. Of note, the photos online look like what you get.

Love this place, I feel safe and the food is incredible

Such a great spot. Delicious Japanese food with a robata grill as well! Premium sushi and an extensive Saki menu. There is a reason this place has been thriving for over 30 years, it's a classic.
