Excellent food, value and atmosphere. Just had the smoked brisket. Equal to the best brisket I have ever had anywhere across the US...and I have had a lot of brisket! $22, fed 2 with left-overs. Great service and atmosphere. Convenient: located at Gilman and San Pablo in West Berkeley. Is this the best BBQ in the Bay Area? For me, definitely yes.
The meat was good. The macaroni and cheese was dry and had no flavor. They are a mask only establishment. If you want to eat inside, bring your vaccination card. They only had water and sweet tea. They were out of beer. I was disappointed big time...Hello. Thank you for the response. We ate at 2 other restaurants that weekend... We were not required to wear masks, and we also dined inside, and were never asked to show a vaccination card.
We spotted this joint while out looking for something else and planned on a return trip even though I despise Berkeley and the people that run it. It's hard to pass up good pork ribs and these are some of the best I've had.5 stars.
It’s super super rare for me to leave a bad review on anything but mannn.First the sign in front about doordash is confusing for new customers, so I placed an online order not knowing the inside was open through the side entrance.Anyways, waited 20 and walked in for pickup and they said my item wasn’t available at all — it’s the only veggie item on menu so I couldn’t substitute. Then said the reason they couldn’t call me beforehand cuz their phone died? Zero offer to make it up to us and I had to wait for doordash to call me before I could leave. Multiple error points all around.
The best BBQ I've ever had! This will always be my favorite spot in the bay and whenever come back to visit I always plan to make stop here! Keep doing your thing guys and I'm also very pleased to see yall bounce back after the fire! God bless!
Went saturday was the 1st person to order. They open at 12pm. No Brisket all out Saturday which tells me they cook Brisket Thursday and when they run out there is nothing left. Ribs were overcooked. Brisket is is on the menu for 3-4 dishes so it makes no sense to be out of one of your more popular items. I was really hoping for better. This is my neighborhood I grew up in. My parents still live in the same house 5 minutes walking from their location so i was very disappointed and i didn't want to be. I love Berkeley and all that it offers.Tokyo Market across the street from KC's is 5 stars. Go there if you want fresh fish or asian ingredients. Love this place

He takes the time to reply to all his customers Reviews, so for that, I'll help you with 5 stars even though I'm in Michigan and never had this place,but the food does look delicious, . I hope you and your daughter are still doing good . And just curious ,does Robert stay in touch with you ? Or stops by to see how your doing ?
I came here with my boyfriend and let me tell you the food is amazing! We got the 3-way plate with 2 sides and the sweet tea. The portions are just right and we were both satisfied. Everything was delicious and great quality. The staff were super nice and helpful. Even took a picture with one of the cooks! 10/10 will come there again !!

I had the Cali Style Sandwich with a side of Collars Greens and it was everything I hoped it would be. The jackfruit and vegetables were seasoned well and the greens had a little kick to them. Beautifully updated decor and the staff very attentive. I can’t wait to get back. I’m so happy and excited for KC’s BBQ future Sandra D
