A nice sandwich place in Berkeley. The portion is good, and they have free lollipop that comes with the sandwich you order. I had Steph Curry, which is great. The sauce in the sandwich is pretty unique, and there is a lot of choices on the menu. The restaurant has great creativity and it is worth trying.
If I would have to describe Ike's in two words, I would say it's "just okay." Something about their sandwiches results in a strange aftertaste, and I don't particularly enjoy their "dutch" bread. Generally, I've never found myself satisfied after visiting Ike's, but I do acknowledge that there are people who enjoy their new take on a sub-sandwich. Their employees are always perfectly nice, and the location is great, I just don't like their food.

3 stars cause Service was super slow, since they only had Two workers, students show ur ID and get a discount, bathrooms needed a lil TLC, but it’s useable. They should do a better job with their hand washing policy, didn’t like that they Answer phones and handle money, while working, to their credit they do change out gloves when asked, but that never looks good. With only two workers it took a bit for my 4 sandwiches, then they only made three of my four sandwiches had to go back and show my receipt, I would prefer another location for sure… my sandwiches was good, and I left a 20% tip. Most ppl seem to buss their in tables which I’m great with, it made it a lot cleaner inside.If you haven’t had an Ike’s sandwich, you are truly truly missing out! Matt Cain is always the go to, but since I gave up Meat for a while, I did the Meatless mike and the vegetarian Somthing artichoke and mushrooms on it yum yum.
Going to ikes never disappoints. Their vegan sandwiches are really good too!
I ordered the Tangerine girl sandwich. It was okay. The bread and sauce were way too sweet for my liking, and the sandwich was drenched in sauce. For a sandwich composed of cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and cheese, it definitely was not worth $11.52. Their menu said the sandwich was ~$9, but the cashier rung it up to be $11.52 + tip. Apparently, they’re in the process of adjusting their menu prices at the Berkeley location. I won’t be going back.
Mobile order estimated 20 minutes, actually took 50 minutes. No explanation given, just kept being told to wait another 10 minutes. I try to be sympathetic to anyone working in the food industry, but this was a waste of my time for two already expensive sandwiches, and makes me never want to get Ike’s again.
Multiple staff members were not wearing their masks for the majority of the time I waited for my food on Sunday afternoon. I waited a long time too, because I paid for my order in-person, didn't receive my food for 20 minutes, and had to ask to find out that the people making my sandwiches never got my order. Will not be returning.
