Wonderful Nepali restaurant with great goat curry, daal, rice and naan. We enjoyed a really good lunch, and the service was friendly and caring

My husband and I love this place - it's our favorite Indian/Nepali food in the area and we end up driving out here from the East Bay every few months. Our order is the Shrimp Tikka Masala with Makhamali naan and their Palak Paneer with Raita. We've also enjoyed their Samosa Chaat and their Lamb Pumpkin Curry. We've probably ordered from here 10+ times and only once was the food inconsistent (and we had placed our order right as they were reopening for dinner so we think that may have been why). Their naan is very fresh.

Delicious food! We placed a large order for pickup and they prepared it super quickly :)

Stumbled here by mistake but ended up being the best mistake. Service was friendly, prompt, and helpful. Food came in a timely manner (not fast and not slow so that's good!) and wow was it packed with flavor. Their mint lemonade is worth ordering as well!

One of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley. This family run restaurant serving mouth watering, authentic Nepalese food. Service is warm and friendly.

Indian & Nepalese Food is very tasty. We had Thali, Paneer Masala Curry, Dal Fry (they used Chana Dal), Momos, Butter/Garlic Naan, Lassi etc. All items are very tasty and authentic. Nān is soft and fluffy. We were 10 people (8 elders + 2 kids). The lady who took order and served the food was very efficient, friendly and cooperative.A great place to dine in.

For once the reviews are correct. We had choice to choose among few but this place didnot disappointed us.We had a friend who was vegeterian and south asian restaurants are goto choices because of that challenge. We started with momo and paneer chilli. We nepali immigrants are notorious for judging a restaurant based on momo and i was really glad that i discovered this gem in our little food adventure because its momo passed my expectations. The chilli was good too. Then we ordered veg biryani and chicken vindaloo. Having never ordered vindaloo before at first i was surprised to find massive chunk of boiled potato and for first few serving i was like "where is the chicken‽". I should have known chicken vindaloo , if we break vindaloo ,i guess it is vindi + aloo or alu which means potato. It wasnot bad just that i was not expecting alu or potato in my chicken. I ordered spicy but i had no problem with spice. But real star was veg biryani . And the portion was massive. We were glad we only ordered 1 plate . And we ordered cucumber raita to go with which again was coincidence but food god wanted us to really enjoy our dinner .We should have taken picture of food and friends but the food was so good, talk was so spontaneous I completely forgot about that :). Thank you himalayan tandori for this experience.

Appetizer are super filling and delicious. Was full by the time my meal came. Just a heads up. My first visit and will be going back

first time had lunch with my son. We enjoyed everything. service was excellent food was hot and tasty full of flavors

We absolutely loved this place. As people who know what authentic Indian and Nepalese food tastes like, finding a good place can be sometimes difficult. This place didn’t disappoint. We went here on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn’t busy at all. We were seated promptly, and were looked after through and through. We ordered chicken momos, chicken karahi and a couple of garlic and cilantro naan. There are 8 momos in one plate. The momos were juicy, and hit the spot. Chicken karahi tasted great too, we liked that there wasn’t a lot of gravy in chicken karahi, and yet it was so flavourful. The naan was good too. To give you an idea of the portion sizes, all of this food was enough or 2 people. We also ordered the chai at the end, and it took me back to my days back home in India. The food here is truly authentic. The server was very prompt in looking after the customers. For instance, we never had to ask for water, and she kept refilling our glasses. They’ve memorabilia, and art from Nepal inside the restaurant, which lends an inviting vibe to this place. The food prices are decent considering the area and the service. Expect to spend around 25-30 dollars per person if you eat a decent meal. There is street parking outside the restaurant, and it can be tight, or so it seemed. However you can park your car close by as well and walk to the restaurant. It’s not a huge restaurant, but they do their best with the space available. They’ve a restroom inside as well.I’ll be back here whenever I’m in Berkeley again. Thank you staff and the restaurant for everything!
