I'm almost glad my old Indian spot went out of business. I may never have tried Flavors of India otherwise. Healthy, affordable, and soooo good!
I've had a couple of veggie dishes that were just alright. But most of the time, it's amazing food! I now don't really like the tikka masala from anywhere else.
So, I must admit that the food is decent, but don't go here because their customer service is ridiculous. If you have any sort of issue with them, you're out of luck. To put this in perspective, I eat a lot of Indian food. I've ordered a lot of food from them, which totals hundreds and hundreds of dollars because it's usually about $50 each time. I've been going to this restaurant for years.Today, I ordered food and got home and discovered that my paneer tikka masala was missing. I called them up and instead of having a normal response like, "Oh, I'm so sorry, I can refund you or you can pick it up..." the lady started doubting me. She said she personally packed the bag and thoroughly checked it. She said this numerous times when speaking to me. She refused to refund me through my credit card and eventually told me to go through Grub Hub or to come pick up cash from her the next time I'm in Berkeley (as if I'd trust this given that she's doubting the validity of my statement). She said this while still asserting that she definitely put it in the bag. I will never go here again. I like dealing with places that own their mistakes and work to make them right. This restaurant just lost out on a lot of money because they were convinced that I had this plan to get a free $15 entree after years of patronage.
Best Indian food, have been ordering from here for five years and throughout college
We ordered dinner from this place twice and both times they sent us the wrong order.First instance, they forgot the rice we ordered, and they proceeded to ask us to drive to them (after paying and tipping a delivery driver) to make it right. We did, figuring it was a one time problem.The second instance, that happened tonight, they delivered the wrong order entirely, which was far less food. They again asked us to drive to them to make it right after paying for delivery and tipping a delivery driver and we refused. They told us to come back tomorrow(?), and they'd make it right. We refused that as well and they pretty much told us that was the best they could do.Never ordering from here again, we were already a little unenthused since its pretty expensive, but this sealed the deal. Hoping to save someone else the headache of having to file a dispute with a credit card company.
We got a carry out from this place. The owner was very kind and nice. Food tasted great. Not sure why they only have 4 stars. They deserve solid 5 stars. ☺️
Lived in the east bay for 51 years and ate at many Indian restaurants, finally found Flavors of India last year. We order from them every Thursday night and has never disappointed. Delicious vegetable pakoras, Chicken Tiki Masala, Chana Masala with the best garlic nan. Food is always hot and the young woman who answers the phone is sweet and polite, great Food, thank you!
Worst customer service today! The front desk lady who was a different person from other days, was very rude, demanding, and she was yelling at people! I’m a food delivery driver and today 10/08/2021 as soon as I got to the restaurant , she told me I had to wait 15 mins without even bothering to take her eyes off of her phone and look at me or my order. After 20 mins waiting, about 4 more people were waiting that she told them to wait like me. When I asked her about my order after 20 mins, she said my food would be ready soon and went to the kitchen. She came back after 10 mins with other people’s orders and told me that my order didn’t go through the kitchen!!! She just noticed that she didn’t even place my order in the first place!!!!!!! Only if she would look at my order when I first got there rather than looking at her phone and send me to wait, maybe she would notice that she never put in my order! I had to cancel the order and wasted 45 mins besides the part that I had to handle her awful attitude!We drivers only get paid per order delivered. For all other drivers if you’re reading this review, please report these situations so people don’t ruin our days like this anymore!
Worst place to have Indian food , for any foodNo salt , just some boiled food with no flavor , do not even try and eat shrimp appetizers or pilav they are the worst food
Delicious, very flavorful. Especially good saag paneer, and malai kofta. They did a great job on a big group order for us. An order of Naan is huge, be warned!
