Get the chicken tika masala tacos and suck it
I was in Berkeley for close to two weeks and came across this eatery. Amazing food. The staff is awesome in all aspects - very customer friendly, respectful, striving to delight everyone walking through their door.Just all around excellent experience.
Love, love, LOVE this place! Everyone is so nice and attentive. Love the ordering system through your phone! The food... Oh my goodness so GOOD ? the chicken... Get it you won't regret it, yumminess ?? the cocktails?!! Yum yum yum, so gorgeous golden state curry drink, so freaking yummy!! ? We will be back again!
If you are a woman, it is not safe to come here. I was sitting at the table across from the bar with my back facing the walkway and a man kept coming up behind me and whispering or making general noises near my ear. I just ignored him but by the third time I had enough and told him to stop approaching me. He acted offended but stayed right behind me despite me pleading for him to leave me alone. He even proceeded to touch my shoulder and I had to tell him not to touch me. My friends at my table chimed in telling him to leave but it still took many times for him to finally turn around and sit at the bar. No one else in the vicinity tried to help by intervening but the security guard must have witnessed it because he immediately approached the man so I was relieved thinking he was getting kicked out. But it turns out he knows the staff well because he remained in the bar and was even walking back and forth between the back kitchen and the front bar being friendly with the workers. I switched spots with a friend so my back wouldn't be exposed to him but now he was making sure to make eye contact with me every time he walked past. My friend approached the security guard to ask if anything would be done about the man harassing me but since the security guard was friends with him he brushed it off and refused to make him leave. I even talked to the security guard and told him I felt very uncomfortable but he still did not do his job so my friends and I had to leave.
The cocktails are interesting, the vibe is impeccable, service is usually pretty good. I enjoy coming here as an occasional treat.Is it me or has the delicious chicken tikka masala dish mysteriously shrunken in size over the two or three years I've been coming here?
DON’T USE ONLINE PHONE PAYMENT SYSTEM! It charges a fee. Really, now I’m paying a fee to pay the bill? I wasn’t made aware of this.Drinks were good. Some of my chicken pieces were hard/had a strange consistency.
We had a wonderful time. Every cocktail was fantastic. Every entree was delicious. Every team member was welcoming, kind, and awesome at their jobs. We especially enjoyed meeting Jack & his thoughtful curation of the drink menu and expert preparation of each beverage!
The brother in the bar not only poured us drink but kept that great music going to keep this place alive! What a playlist - you took me back in time sir! That out of the way….This place is generous with their pour, a decent chill spot where you can get your grub on while you can sip the freshest of cocktails ? to great spirits shelf’d/stacked all the way up to the high roof. They need a ladder to get drinks from the top shelf y’all! It’s really a great experience I had with my better half. I will come back and this time it won’t just be us! Appreciate the great service, the good vibes and memorable moments and tastes you have shared with us! Cheers,✊? ✌?
Stylish hole-in-the-wall with excellent cocktails. Bring some friends and hang out until the wee hours
The paneer tikka masala was good, and the naan was tasty (though slightly soggy), but the chicken in the sandwich was incredibly dry and hardly edible. Possibly the driest chicken I have ever had…. The portions were also quite small considering the price.That being said, this is one of the few restaurants that is open late in the area. Stick to the paneer and you should be fine.
