Stopped here while my daughter was at a lax camp at Cal, Berkeley this reminded me of cafes in Paris and Italy so I gave it a try, Happy I did! Great atmosphere plenty of seats, patio was serene. The cappuccino was the correct size served in a ceramic cup froth was just right, espresso was well brewed. The balsamic chicken caprese baguette was delicious! I had it heated and the goat cheese was lovely! If you're ever in the Berkeley area and enjoy grabbing uno cafe con comida do it here! I'll be back!
1. Middle of my breakfast burrito was cold2. They don’t brew coffee, i could not order a freshly brewed cup of coffee at this cafe, they only had espresso. I got an americano.3. Ngl the burrito in the warm spots were pretty good.4. I paid $13.74 for that experience.
Good coffee and great pastries. Great ambience and ample outside seating. Perfect spot to catch up over a cup of great cappuccino or other delightful drinks !!
Ok mocha, latte and pastries. Very nice outdoor seating
I really love the outdoor seating! Also, pretty good coffee. I don't like how small the sandwiches are, but they are tasty.
I want to love Strada — it’s a beloved campus institution right next to the law school — but I think they may need some tough love. The coffee here is really bad, which is particularly frustrating because often they’re the only coffee shop open in this part of campus. They don’t sell drip coffee; if you order drip coffee, they’ll sell you a (really bad) americano without telling you. If you order a double-shot espresso, they will sell you … something … that is about 6oz of liquid in a 12oz cup, has no creama, and gets you crazy wired. I suspect this is a really watered-down quadruple shot, but I’m not sure. Please Strada, please sell drip coffee and actual espresso
Ah… this place is still here after all these years. It was surreal to sit here with my son enjoying a cup of coffee. It brought me back lots of memories. Thank you Caffe Strada. You are part of Berkeley and I so look forward to coming back here again.
The atmosphere is great for chatting or getting work done, but I just can’t recommend the coffee. My latte was somehow finished before I was even done paying.
Excellent coffee at student friendly price (thankfully given the area!). Pastries and goodies leaves a bit to be desired but that's not why you would visit the cafe. It's a place you could sit for several hours enjoying the people around you, read, and sip on delicious coffee.
Caffe Strada is a spiritual place to be. Magical. Coffee could be better, so can't give 4 stars, but the ambiance and atmosphere are unlike anything else in Berkeley or perhaps planet earth. Writers, poets, used to camp out (figuratively) at Strada in the 60's and 70's. Their spirits still dance around the courtyard - maybe you'll meet one when you go... if you're lucky.
