We stumbled across this restaurant and what a pleasant surprise. The service was good and the food was really good. There carrots are exceptionally good. I would return here for sure.

Friendly attentive service and my 1/2 pound burgers was cooked correctly, medium. So, often other places over cook my burger.Gigi ordered the Lasagna. The portion was huge, but served warm not hot. And she found the sauce too sweet, almost barbecue sweet, for her Manhattan-Italian taste buds.

I’m leaving a review mainly because of the severe stomach and headache after eating here and the fact the owner likes to put down guests who leave unsatisfactory reviews. Sometimes not having a rebuttal is best especially in fine dining. There is nothing fine dining about this place!! Fine dining does not ever have a buffet unless it’s for an event in a private dining room. The food was bleak at best compared to the restaurants I’ve had the last few day’s in California. Let’s start with dirty silverware!! Especially when it’s hand rolled! Told me not to eat there from go. Due to exceptionally limited options I had no choice but to roll the dice. Food still stuck on dirty silverware not water marks. Sorry bud, I’m a fine dining bartender for 20 years and your silverware is absolutely disgusting! When there is a roll of silverware at the edge of the table the server should ask to replace it. With fresh clean silverware. Not that you had any. Fine dining servers hand polish all silverware. Fine dining is also a button down shirt not a polo! The broccoli tasted like raw fish. The salmon had seen a few better day’s. Yes I ate everything it was trash or starve. Well looking like starving is better than food poisoning. I highly suggest you invest in staff that understands the importance of clean polished silverware!! Also crayons on every table is not fine dining! I honestly do not understand what about your restaurant you think is fine dining?? You are right, McDonald’s or Danny’s at least provide clean utensils and food without the poisoning. A Saturday night and 2 tables in the entire restaurant were very discerning. Located in what very much so looks like an abounded parking lot. Trust me folks the food is better at Denny’s. I would love to hear your excuses for food still stuck on hand rolled silverware!!! Sorry bud, you can’t belittle that one away!!

Normally, I am not driven to write bad reviews. But we spent over $100 for dinner, and would have felt over charged if we spent $25.I have since found out since I posted my review that, despite the name, this restaurant is not owned by the Cattlemens Steakhouse restaurant chain based in Santa Rosa, according to what the president of that company told me.The restaurant is hidden behind an abandoned shopping center. We had to ask for water. The prices we saw on the web were nowhere near the prices on the actual menu. We had to wait a half hour for our food, which was not a problem, but a restaurant that offers entrees at $30 to $50 ought to be able to manage some dinner rolls. When we finally got our food, no one did an entree check to see how it was. My coyote chicken was just a huge pile of mushed together food. I will grant that it was tasty, but the chicken breast was so overcooked that it was basically a hard crust with some very dry chicken meat attached. My partner’s steak was pretty good, but was very small for $38, and had two cuts into it which we had never seen before. The waiter said that that was how the chef “presented” it. The only choice of salad was a large Caesar; no dinner salad was available. The service wasn't bad, but was not particularly good, either. There was also a “convenience fee” for using a credit card— what the HELL? I don't like being nickel-and-dimed. Even McDonalds doesn’t do that. And to top it off, a large screen TV was blaring FoxNews propaganda— my idea is you keep large TVs and your politics out of your upscale restaurant. This is a place that presents itself as being upscale. It wasn’t.

This was my first time at Cattlemen’s. The atmosphere was nice. I ordered the ribs, and the presentation was so beautiful that I didn’t want to eat it, and they were great! Very friendly atmosphere. It’s so worth it.

Awesome place! The service was great and the patrons very friendly and talkative. I had the pork chops OMG to die for and the price extremely fair. I expected to pay 60+ for my dish based on the quality and portion and ended up pay half that including the tip. Again O M G! WOW!!

Dinner was amazing the service was amazing and the atmosphere was awesome. We totally recommend this place for fine dining

Amazing ambiance, food was incredible, cocktails were delish, overall great experience! Definitely gained a return customer!

Great private location, rustic looks, bartender and manager were personable, service was pleasant but the food was cold, great portion but did not meet the taste and freshness test. my expectations were that this was western: that’s not the case, was unimpressed with especially the food and the fact that the environment looked lonely and there were two to 5 homeless loitering about. Overall the interaction was pleasant and I was assured they are improving being a new business, but I would add the sooner the better.

I ate here a few months ago with my wife and I, I use to take her out to fancy restaurants like this one. We are very pleased with the food and service, for a restaurant like this in barstow I believe people in the area don't know what scratched and fresh food is. This is a must for any kind of event or a anniversary, everyone will be happy unless your just filled with negative thoughts. To the people saying it's to expensive, well guess what you pay for the quality of the food. Which they do meet, and if your meat wasn't searing hot, that'd a good thing. Your suppose to let it rest, now go in and support them as i will for Thanksgiving. And in many other times in the future.
