Well, I made reservations and my father, son and I went there for a special occasion. I ordered a pastrami sandwich. My son ordered a tri to sandwich. My father ordered a setup. I got my pastrami sandwich. I was the only one who got what they ordered. My son got a roast beef dinner and that is not what he ordered and he said it was awful. My father’s setup never came until I asked for the tab. They had cleared dishes but they finally brought it out because I mentioned it. My father had to eat off our plates. He really wanted the setup. Just awful. Never go there again.

The restaurant is located among warehouses. Driving through the neighborhood, we were a little uneasy. We were able to find a spot at the adjacent lot. Definitely the restaurant is located in an interesting neighborhood. We stopped in around 12:39 on a Saturday. The parking lot was full. Walked in from the banquet room side door. The room was full of people.Service was prompt and friendly. Drinks, bread, and salad were brought out quickly.Food was hugh portion. The salad and pickled tomatoes were delicious with its dressing. The sandwiches had a lot of meat. Our favorite was the oxtail stew. The oxtail was so tender that meat came right off the bone.Didn’t give a five star because we were expecting a basque cheesecake but it was a cheesecake that one can buy from a supermarket.

Long tables, lots of people, great good and if you are not Basque, its different food. We really enjoyed our experience. Staff was really friendly and let us try a few samples of food we hadn't had before but didn't want too much of.

If your from around here you already know it's the best! If you're not from here all I can say is "you must go to Woolgrowers!" It should be on everyone's bucket list. Good portions, family style dining. Soup, bread, tomato salad, pickled tongue, spaghetti, beans, salsa, fries, and entrée. Add dry cheese and blue cheese to your order. Love the lamb chops, oxtail stew and the pork chops.

One of Bakersfield finest dining locations. The history and food bring a taste and experience not found even in Los Angeles! A must stop for the foodies. Try the oxtail

Great restaurant, went to celebrate a birthday party on 3/26. Wool Growers went above and beyond to making the birthday party a great dining experience. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. My hats off to Wool Growers and staff for making this evening a notable experience. Highly recommend for those who have not had the pleasure of one of Bakersfield finest restaurants.

Its like stepping back in time. You literally wouldn't be able to tell the difference from Wollgrowers 1982 and 2022. This is the magic of the restaurant. Nostalgia and good family style food...its just as good now as it was then.

Nice place for lunch with the family. Salad and cheeseburger tasted great. Bread tasted awesome. Soup was a little bland. House wine was very dry

I can say this is really a unique restaurant, in many ways. My wife and I enjoyed two different entrées: oxtail and fish. The sides are delicious. Different experience and you get to try a variety of things.

Best basque food of Bakersfield. Their lunch “Setup” is a great deal that is served family style that includes cabbage soup, salsa, beans (which should be all mixed), alongside salad, bread and butter, and pickled tongue. You can get an entree added, but the setup is usually enough for most. For dinner, they add spaghetti and fries. The house red wine is a nice touch. If you’re ever in Bakersfield, this should be a go-to restaurant on your list.
