I came here for the first time Friday night and it did not disappoint! I drank two dole whips with Banana rum they were delicious! Tiki-Ko is my new favorite summer spot.
The atmosphere is amazing. Such a fun bar! It’s like you’ve been transported somewhere far away from Bakersfield. The owner has thought of everything when designing this bar. It’s like a museum of nautical treasures. And the tropical drinks are fun and delicious. This weekend was a little disappointing though. Every time we’ve been here in the past, the Shark Attack has been served in a shark’s head mug, the Pina Colada in a cute parrot glass, etc. We ordered our first round and we didn’t get the mugs! Come on….that’s the best part! The waiter who delivered the drinks rudely told us “You have to ask for the glass!” and walked away. So….round two we asked for the glass! We got it but when my husband carried the empty glass to the bar to return it the bartender said “No, you paid for it! You have to keep it!” (The menu states $14 for drink….$30 with glass to take home.). We didn’t want to buy one; we just wanted to drink out of it. I realize these cute glasses may tend to “disappear” more than Tiki Ko would like, but requiring us to buy the glass just so we can drink out of it is terrible. It takes away from the whole experience. I don’t mind if you hold my ID or require a deposit until it’s returned. Just let me enjoy my drink and the full magic that is Tiki Ko.
Tiki-ko was closed, so we went to the sister bar sinking ship. The drinks were amazing. But the wait time was longer than I would've liked. But it was a Saturday and busy.
The staff is absolutely amazing! They genuinely care about service, the quality of the drinks, and the tiki culture.
A total gem. Downstairs is big with an incredible atmosphere, really unique craftsmanship, extremely nice staff, and delicious drinks. Upstairs is smaller and more intimate, and exudes the 1960’s/70’s motif very well. It’s clear there’s a lot of love in this joint. Completely and absolutely worth your patronage. They’ve got some killer shirts, too.
Drinks are great I went and the service line was long but overall a good place for older adults
Bummed that they had to get rid of the Guyana monster drink that lit on fire but otherwise awesome as always . Really appreciated our bartender Spongie
Great craft drinks. Chill vibe.
Always the best.
Fantastic drinks, great bar tenders, the atmosphere is very in depth, i always seem to see something new in the decor every time we come
