We had rack of lamb. Perfect food. Perfect service by Chris. Come here hungry or bring a couple friends. We are def coming back!! We had fun

I ordered the Tequila Lime Chicken 1/2 salad. Excellently prepared & a perfect lunch. My husband ordered a huge cheeseburger that was fabulous as well. Service by Jasmine, excellent service! Had our vehicle serviced at Clerou Tire while we had lunch. Even got to chat with Rod & Julie for a little bit. Such nice people that work extremely hard.

EVERYTHING was great!! Food, cocktails and service was absolutely fabulous. The lollipop lamb chops appetizer were amazing, steak sandwich cooked to perfection. Everyone should visit Pyrenees. Looking forward to my next visit. ?

We were only going to be in town one night so we had to make the most of it. When we discovered that Basque restaurants were a thing in Bakersfield, we started reviewing the options. The safe bet appeared to be Wool Growers but we wanted a more "authentic" experience so we picked Pyrenes. We wanted to sit at the bar so we arrived early concerned that this establishment's popularity meant it might be a problem. As it turned out when we walked in there was only on person sipping a beer at the bar. So we positioned ourselves at the end of the bar to enjoy the scene. We knew about the "set up" but we were still unprepared for how much food we got. The bartender amicably agreed with that much food, ordering one set-up and one entrée was acceptable. On top of the traditional garlic friend chicken we had that whole set-up to deal with. So much food! I like to say, "when in Rome..." so of course I had to try the pickled cow's tongue. I can see where it might grow on you but no, I did not finish it. In part because there were plenty of other things to share with my wife. For instance, that cottage cheese. Wow, full of onions and spices and I don't know what else. So good. Needless to say between the food and the locals we talked to sitting at the bar, we had a great night. Clearly more of a locals place than a tourist place but very authentic which is what we wanted.

Great taste of Bakersfield. Nice Bar. Food is Different and good. Basque Food.Great for groups. Fun place. Little nooks to sit and char with friends. Service is good. It's in OLD TOWN KERN and plenty of parking on street.

The food here is very good. I have not had a bad meal here. Definitely a little more expensive but it is SO worth it because you are getting great food cooked very well. They have really good specials too. Try the salmon. I am super picky about fish/seafood and I took a chance on the salmon Alfredo pasta... I now get it every time it is on the special board. Again, not on the cheap side but if you want great food and awesome servers then try it out. The servers are very friendly and constantly running. Just know it is busy for a reason and the reason...it is really good. Great for dates or for a lunch/dinner party.

This is an excellent basque restaurant which has been in Bakersfield for decades. The family style meal was excellent especially the lamb chops. They give you so much to eat. Next time thru town, it will be our go to spot

Stopped by for a quick drink and my friend ordered a to go of their lunch set-up.Waited at the bar for a while, finally one of the bartenders decided to help us. She took our order and then proceeded to have a chat with two other customers for like 5 minutes. My drink was a two ingredient drink and we wanted to place my friends order in the system so we can get out of there quickly. I just found the whole thing to be kind of rude, you don't take somebody's order and then go have a chit chat without putting it into the system. Food was mediocre at best. The fries were great though.

Rod & Julie are the best. Super welcoming & helpful. Thank you!

Best place for Steak and Eggs in town. Great atmosphere with great Bakersfield people.
