Below average pho.I should have trusted the reviews but didn’t. It was on the way, so I decided to give it a shot.Broth is just isn’t right and is acidic.Meat ball tasted okay but also a little funny.Steak is cut too thick. You can’t cut one giant spring roll into 4 pieces and call it 4 spring rolls. You shouldn’t make giant 2 inch wide spring rolls in the first place. Stuff is going to fall out.The peanut sauce tasted like peanut butter. It’s very obvious that the cooks and the owners aren’t Vietnamese, and they lack understanding of the cuisine.I have had worse, but I won’t be returning.
I ordered pho to go from this place and they completely messed up my order. However, I called and the customer service i received went above and beyond. Once I did get my order the food was delicious. They are a little pricey but overall I don't think I've had a bad menu item yet.
I love the pho here. My go to place in Bakersfield. They do change waitresses often and the owner isn't very friendly. But I go eat the food, so his unfriendlyness doesn't bother me so much once I have that delicious bowl of steaming Pho in front of me.
I’ve gone to almost every Pho spot in Bakersfield. Pho 88 has the most consistent broth and it’s the best tasting of them all. I can’t name a better place than pho 88
My first experience was excellent, my family loved our regular orders for over a year. However, something has changed quite a bit. It’s too bad because we really did love it.
The rice noodles are perfect in general the food is great and without the guilty of not eating healthy perfect for people like me that I'm in a gluten free diet
My pho was so delicious. I got the shrimp and pork spring rolls as well. Definitely will be going back!
This place is garbage. I ordered the 4 spring rolls five days ago and got 4 full uncut spring rolls that were so poorly made I almost couldn't eat them and probably shouldn't have for my health. The sprouts were brown (expired/going bad) and dirty. Very loosely wrapped and fell apart as soon as I picked them up. Too much noodles. Only half of them had shrimp and half had pork. Not pork and shrimp in each roll. I paid almost $12 including tip for them. I decided to give this place another chance because they're the closest pho place so I ordered them again tonight. Paid $12 including tip again. I got it home and they gave me 2 loosely wrapped spring rolls cut in half. I called about it and the bleach blonde latina chick who works there said that's how the "4 spring rolls" are served. When I politely confronted her about it being 2 cut in half she said they're busy and hung up on me. This place is like 200 square feet and has maybe 6 tables in the entire place. They've neverbeen "busy". I brought it back and thankfully got a refund dealing with the new girl who was actually concerned with providing customer service. That terrible fake blonde waitress better not enter the undeserved 35% tip I gave (on a to-go order) at the end of the night. I've worked in food service for years. This place is unacceptable and won't last. Never coming here again. And get new menus. Half the info is crossed out in sharpie on every single menu. So ghetto. I will drive clear across town to pho vy or pho hut from now on. This place will give you food poisoning.
Great food. Great customer service. I visit this restaurant often and have never been disappointed.
