Ate here on a busy Friday evening. Was greeted immediately and waited for a couple minutes to be seated. Caleb was our waiter and did a most excellent job. Their warm bread and honey butter was awesome. The table side salad bar is a fun way to build a salad. The steaks were prepared perfectly as was the veggies. They offered some amazing desserts but sadly we didn’t leave any room. I would definitely eat here the next time I’m in Bakersfield!

Quick SummaryExcellent service, easy parking, but pretty mediocre food (very salty).Food- 1.5 starsWas pretty disappointed by the food. The molasses bread was dry to start. Tried the sampler platter, clam chowder, prime rib, onion rings, mixed vegetables, and ribeye. The common theme is that everything was very salty, particularly the clam chowder and the prime rib (it's expected to be somewhat salty, but this was unbearable). It's surprising that the prime rib was advertised to be cooked for 21 hours, because the meat was not seasoned evenly. The crust of the prime rib was extremely salty and nearly inedible. Was pretty disappointed. The sides and the sampler platter were mediocre at best, with everything tasting dry and somewhat old. Black Angus was much better in food qualityService- 5 starsOur server was excellent throughout. Very attentive and helpful without being overbearing.Bottom LinePretty disappointed by the food at Hungry Hunter. The service was excellent, but the food was borderline bad

Whiskey Peppercorn is delicious

Had a good experience minus one person in our party not getting their prime rib they way they asked. The waiter was told it was medium and his response was the lighting was bad and if we shined a phone light on it, we would see it's perfectly rare. Dismissed the conversation and walked away. He lost an amazing tip with that comment alone. We heard multiple times how the chef knew how to cook a prime rib to our desire. Apparently not.

Walked in, party of one. Promptly seated. Ordered end cut prime rib and baked potato. Asked server for recommendation for other side. He said green beans. Ok. Fine. Bread had a strong burnt flavor. Salad was good but young man that made it clearly was not happy with his job. Sort of trumped his way through the process. As soon as he walked away my meal arrived. I told Caleb the server I had my salad for less that 5 seconds. He offered to put my plate in the oven to keep it warm. I declined. He then told me they were out of the green beans. I declined his other options. Baked potato was fine. Their award winning prime rib was not. I managed to eat half of it and gave up. It was dry. So dry it was inedible. almost $45 bucks. I dont think I will return. Too bad. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants for birthday and anniversaries

The filet mignon was perfect! Actually, everything on my plate was cooked perfectly and very delicious. My husband had the standard cut of the prime rib and couldn’t get over how tender and tasty it was. Our waiter Clay provided excellent service, was friendly and professional.

Saturday Dinner wait was about a hour. Today was a very busy night. We arrived at 5:30 seated at 6:25 waited another half hour to be waited on. When the food did arrive it was all well worth it. Very delicious, Photo below was full rack of BBQ ribs, sides baked potato and fried onion rings

Delicious food and excellent service! The Turkey soup is ?! Still craving it weeks later. My steak was cooked as ordered and their ??? !

I really like this place I was amazed at the way they did the salad very unique and I had blue cheese dressing which I thought was superb. We had a few mishaps but that happens when the place is really jumping in busy. My son ordered prime rib and they brought him medium instead of rare and didn't add the toppings that he had asked for so it had to be sent back. They also took their time in bringing the junior Sunday the grandson and we had to wait for that for quite a while. But all in all the food was good the service people we're very attentive and did their best to make sure that your drinks were full and that you didn't want anyting I would definitely go back I would say it is a bit pricey but as they say you get what you pay for

Very good ribeye. Grilled to perfect medium rare. I tried black and blue topping but it wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping. Pricing is good for portion size. Bar staff was friendly and efficient.
