Burger and fries are pretty good here. They have a pineapple drink that’s also really good. Except last time I ordered the same drink and received something old and expired. Immediately when I tried it I knew something wasn’t right so I decided to open the lid and there it was a brown expired pineapple drink. I called and management said he was running the pineapple drink and it was bright yellow for him. Then he asked if I could drive back for another drink or if I was calling just to let them know? I was not going to drive back in traffic with two screaming babies that were hungry. Nor was I just calling to let them know. Later that night my husband went to a different restaurant that also serves the pineapple drink and as you can see there’s a huge difference in freshness.
It's always good no matter wat you order. There is other locations in bakersfield but the best in South West

Use to be a favorite but today ruined that I ordered my food on the phone 11:48 am and after tell my order was immediately hung up on. There was no telling of how long it would take or if I wanted to pay. I then proceeded to pick some stuff then arrived at Golden Ox to pick my Meal about 12:10. I paid for food and waited figure food would have been ready but waited then 12:40 hit and yet still waiting for food I then asked why my food was not ready upon arrival. They responded with well you need to pay on phone before they make your food. Which is weird cause have ordered before on phone and didn’t pay and food was ready. They responded with that morning rules not afternoon rules so sorry and walked away from me I was upset and embarrassed in front of other customers. So Sad to see such bad service at a place I loved. I will make sure to let everyone and anyone I know to avoid because of this
This place is unfair. Their is a urgent care across from them and the people bring in all the customers to this restaurant only for the workers at golden ox to yell at the staff to park away from "their" parking lot. It gets extremely busy for these medical staff that they have to park by in shape and walk a distance because patients fill up the lot to be seen. These restaurant workers can care less about covid and they only work with themselves. They have a sign and a staff specifically assigned to make sure the clients and staff from this clinic don't park near the restaurant. The only reason they get most customers is due to the clinic across from them. I'm taking my business elsewhere y'all lost a loyal customer.
Food is good but not amazing. The french fries have been too soft for my liking, but the portion size is nice at least. It's rather expensive for the meals and there's an upcharge for using a debit card, getting extra sauce, or even a side of ranch, and it's almost $1 for each of those. The nickel and dime charges when I'm already paying $29 for two gyro combos is pretty stingy.
Got a wet chile verde burrito. It was a nice sized monster. Good big n tasty chunks of pork. Had to get an extra bowl of green sauce because it was so tasty. Very good ?
Their breakfast are the best.That place make me feel back home.
